A DLC Question

Archive: 16 posts

So I recently found out that a local library has broadband AND game consoles there, and I plan on taking my hard disk there to get some DLC. But I have a concern. Both my older and younger sisters play LBP, and I'm afraid that if I download the DLC on my profile, it won't branch out to there profiles, too. So, does it go to all profiles on the hard disk or just the one I downloaded it on? And if it doesn't, is there a way to get it to the other profiles without buying it again? Thanks.

You're stealing DLC from a library?

Nice.

I have heard that putting a HDD from one PS3 in another will format it.2009-12-18 17:31:00

Are you sure you can copy DLCs from one playstation to another just like that..?

I don't think so... and it's certainly not possible for the paying costumes or packs like MGS, Monster or History,
as they only can be used by the user/account who bought them....no???

Yeah, I took a look at the hard disk again and realized why this was a bad idea. Maybe I can download it on a flash drive...? Oh, and I'm not stealing the DLC, just borrowing the Internet connection. And mostly, I plan on getting free DLC, such as Creator Pack 1 and Leerdammer.2009-12-19 13:42:00

I have dial-up, so I can't connect my PS3 to the Internet.

Grrr, I guess Sony doesn't want me to buy DLC... -_-

To take DLC from the library account would be stealing (if it was not free DLC) and anyways you would need that account to be activated on YOUR PS3 to be able to download anything. Good luck for the library people to give you the name and password.

I was going to use my PSN account to buy the DLC and (originally) was going to download it to my hard disk which I was going to put into their PS3 that had access to high-speed Internet, so I wasn't going to steal it, just use their Internet connection. But this plan has been foiled, so the mods can lock this thread now.2009-12-21 13:35:00

Oh ok, so maybe it would be more simple to take all the PS3 with you (not just the HD)
and just connect it to internet there, instead of removing and changing the HD of the 2 PS3....

Is broadband unavailable where you live or is it just an upgrade you can't currently afford? Do you have any friends with Broadband that would be willing to lend you a few hundred mb of bandwidth?

You can't really blame Sony for not surporting dial up its just not a realistic possability to download 99% of PSN content on a connection that on a rare good day will do 12mb in an hour.

Friends? Ahahahahahaha!...Oh, you were serious?

We are told broadband is unavailable here, but you can get it a couple miles away in both directions. Go figure.

And I know you're right about Sony, but I just feel better blaming someone. I guess high-speed Internet carriers would be more appropriate to blame.
