Emitter Gun

Here's an idea that popped into my head this morning for a new character enhancement - an emitter gun. It'd work just like the paintinator, with R1 to shoot and the right stick for aiming, but instead of shooting paintballs, it emits whatever you want. The settings for the object would be very similar to a regular emitter, so you can choose any object you want emitted, what speed it will shoot out at, the lifetime of it, how mnay cna exist at once, and how long between each shot (0.1 for rapid fire, a few seconds if you want to make players wait a bit before firing another shot). So what's the advantage of this, you ask? Couldn't you just make you're own gun with an emitter attached? Well yes you could, but they're never easy to aim. With an emitter gun, you could shoot anything you want wherever you want - bombs, rocket cheetahs, bubbles, anything. First, you set the size of the area in which you will place your emitted object. That way, the engine will be able to determine how far away from the gun the object will be emitted. Then, when you select the object to be emitted, you place the object within a circle on the screen. Then you determine the angle at which the object will be emitted by moving a marker at the edge of the circle. Wow. I was at first a little off on the idea, but platform spawning? Awesome idea! Some step-back would also be nice. When shooting a biig mother out, it wouldn't make sence if it just emitted that, and you could stand still. The speed would also be considered in that case, but of course not as much. Shooting a small brick (2.5 x 2.5) of metal with the speed set to 500 would still destroy a piece of.. Whatever, as usual. I remember having or hearing this idea awhile ago. After all, the paintinator pretty much is this, it just emits paintballs. But it's definitely be awesome to have it emit whatever you want.
