tank on psp???

Archive: 7 posts

i don't have the psp version yet and was just wondering: to those who have the game already is it possible to make a complex tank in the game, or is it too much for the psp to handle. basically is the psp version hindered or is it as good as the ps3 version??? any thoughts????2009-12-14 04:30:00

From my experience, material-on-material interactions are iffy at best, so I believe any kind of treads will simply phase through the sprockets instead of providing traction.

I don't think a treaded tank is possible, but a wheeled tank should be possible, but probably won't be capturable.

I've seen lots of tank-like objects in the community levels, but they invariably have extremely sloppy treads. If you stick simply to a multi-wheel design and skip the treads, you can make some very cool stuff.2009-12-14 15:43:00

@gilamesh: when you say it isn't capturable , do you mean that it is too large, or is there some new thing going on with the psp?? is it like when it gives you that message "the object is too large to capture" or too complicated???2009-12-15 04:56:00

There is an absolute limit of 19 objects which can be captured together as one. There is also a limit on how complex an object can be.

I played a level called "Battle Tank Test Zone" and the tank looked ugly, but worked great. Instead of wheels, he used just rockets. It was fun to play and even had working guns that shot out fire pieces. To bad you had to jump on top of the tank to shoot... but it was still pretty cool.2009-12-22 06:29:00
