Sprinting(or walking fast) mech help

Archive: 3 posts

My mech team and I need help creating a mech that moves fast enough to showcase in my level.

We are stumped on what to do because it is just so hard to make a mech move fast enough, our previous mechs have not been quite fast.

We are looking for a creator(s) that can help reconstruct a mech and make it sprint, and expertise of the art of making the mechanic monstrousities is needed so please if anyone can help that'd be very helpful

P.S. the mech we build will be showcased in my level and will be iven full credit to the meh makers

Sincerely,

It really depends on how the thing walks. If it's a biped that walks like a person then the main problem you'll have is not so much the running itself but going from a stationary position to running full pelt without someone getting hurt.

Some bipeds I made that might be useful as reference: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5F6F555C623620BF

Most mech levels just use a rail so it doesn't fall over, but that's cheating.

Making a sprinting mech is a tall order lol. In my experience they need to be made as light as possible because of the momentum caused by the legs swinging at a fast pace.

The fastest mech I have seen is Celteen's Metal Gear Rex. It had a kind of hopping motion which made it able to run quickly :

Also, if you haven't seen them already, I think the following threads could give you a hand :
