Most Slick Material
Archive: 18 posts
I have been doing some testing to see which types of material are the slickest on ice and other than Ice on Ice I have found that the Green dissolvable Material is the slickest. The way I tested this was I made a sheet of ice that was long enough to get top velocity for a material. I put three different types of material onto the ice and pushed them against a piece of normal wood that was glued to the ice, once lined up I unglued the wood and push the materials to maximum velocity and then stopped pushing. The one that slid the farthest was the slickest. I have not done all of the materials because some obviously would not slide very well (like rubber) but out of all the materials I did test the Greed dissolvable slid the farthest. | 2009-12-12 17:47:00 Author: Ticklethis275 Posts: 6 |

Nice test, green dissolve is also the best material for stickering btw. | 2009-12-12 19:15:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
I have the same habit of saying glass is ice lol | 2009-12-16 09:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
Nice test, green dissolve is also the best material for stickering btw. No. Cardboard is obviously the best material for stickers; It shades it a little and that's it. The Dissolve gives it a green hue, and shades it more than the cardboard. That's my experience, with the dissolve atleast. I like the test though, nice way of testing it aswell! I'll stick to glass-on-glass though, if I need something grabable, I'll just use my GIO (Grabbable Invisible Object). | 2009-12-18 21:23:00 Author: Risumm Posts: 77 |

That's my experience, with the dissolve atleast. I've neer noticed the green hue but other than that it looks the best imo. How about some of the wood materials? They might sticker better than cardboard. | 2009-12-18 21:34:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
Actually, blue wood and dissolve seem to sticker best. I've never noticed a green hue either... | 2009-12-18 21:43:00 Author: iGotFancyPants Posts: 1355 |
Actually, blue wood and dissolve seem to sticker best. I've never noticed a green hue either... That was the one I meant for wood There might be a green hue with black stickers but I can't remember. I'll test it the next time I'm on LBP. | 2009-12-18 22:17:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
Hmm.. It might seem af I'm wrong on this one.. Unbelievable.. . I'll be trying to 'steal' the TV, so I can test this one.. Hn.. | 2009-12-18 22:19:00 Author: Risumm Posts: 77 |
The Dissolve gives it a green hue, and shades it more than the cardboard. That's my experience, with the dissolve atleast. Yes it's true I also saw that... But the green hue is more or less visible depending on the light(s) intensity of the level. | 2009-12-18 22:20:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
Yup, blue wood is the best material if you're looking for the smoothest possible. It does have a bit of a shine to it, though. Stickering it black does not leave a green/blue hue. | 2009-12-18 22:26:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |

Yep, noticed that to when photoshooting myself earlier. Blue Wood: Smoothest (No bumps in the stickered area) Cardboard: In Between (Thermo Friendly) Dissolve: Sharpest (A few bumps though) I admit my defeat: Cardboard is not the best material for stickering. This is just my prior experience, I apologize for my stupidity. | 2009-12-19 21:41:00 Author: Risumm Posts: 77 |
ive always used blue wood for stickers but when i need a sticker without the glare like a black background i would just use the sky with not lighting | 2009-12-21 00:01:00 Author: xjayr1 Posts: 10 |
Wait, so are you guys saying that color affects the slickness if the material? | 2009-12-21 22:37:00 Author: psman012 Posts: 106 |
Wait, so are you guys saying that color affects the slickness if the material? Haha, no. This is just an off-topic discussion, just pretend it wasn't there. Glass/Dissolve is the most slick material (going from the info from this topic). | 2009-12-22 10:10:00 Author: Risumm Posts: 77 |
No, they got dreadfully off topic. Color has no effect on slickness, the material however does. | 2009-12-22 10:19:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
