Hey everone. I need help. Big time. Ive been trying for ages to make a mech that walks on its own (with no supports or what-have-you) and i just cant seem to do it. Can someone advise me with the best setup for the legs wobble bolts ect. | 2009-12-12 17:17:00 Author: theamilien Posts: 485 |
I've made a couple of threads on bipedal motion, I think they could give you a good hand : Bipedal Motion (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8255) Bipedal Motion 2 : Balancing (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8398) Also, the bipedal motion synchronizer should make it much easier to set up and tweak the leg motion of your walker : Bipedal Motion Synchronizer (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=11977) Hope that helps. | 2009-12-12 17:34:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |

hmmmm im still having trouble. I just cant get the mech to walk properly. It just kicks its leg out and then flops over. Also im having trouble doing the back leg, how would you attach the wobble bolt? | 2009-12-15 17:40:00 Author: theamilien Posts: 485 |
Well, before trying to make your mech walk on land, you should hang it in the air (either by gluing a piece of dark matter to it, or material changing a part of its body to dark matter) and tweak the walking motion until you get a good walking motion going. It'll make the tweaking much easier that way. After you've gotten that, you can test how the mech walks on land by attaching a piece of peach floaty to its top via string or rod (you need just enough to keep it upright). You may need to tweak the motion or modify some parts if the feet tend to get snagged on the floor. Once the mech walks correctly, you can remove the floaty and work on balancing the mech. Hope that helps. | 2009-12-15 17:58:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
