Stick invisible dark matter to them and you can place them wherever you wish.

I rarely glue anything to my level so I don't see it as an issue. Much easier to move stuff around and you don't accidentally glue moving parts that are also touching.

Attach a stiff rod to it.2009-12-11 14:38:00

That's odd - I have a problem with one tree in particular as well. I think the "skinny tree" item may actually be glitched?

Anyways, yeah, I believe a stiff rod is the solution here.

There is DEFINITELY a bug with the normal unskinny trees. My trees in the Crystal Cave in autumn are all attached to invisible stiff pistons because anytime I would glue one in the level, another would unglue. I ended up putting a key switch on one of them that simply wouldn't glue at all, and if you pull it over, you get points. I figured I might as well use the bug to my advantage, after-all. I agree though, it's extremely annoying.2009-12-11 15:14:00

Aw man, xkappax you make my creating time into playing time. Now I have to go find the generosi-tree. Bad pun, I guess money does grow on trees. Okay, I'll stop.2009-12-11 15:33:00

The lesson here : when in doubt, make your own trees! 2009-12-11 15:43:00

Wow, I'm glad it's not just me that this happens too. I've gotten to the point where I put them on level surfaces and make it so you can't reach the grabbable
leaves. I've tried to make my own trees but they all suck.

Like I said before, if you guys are having troubles with those trees, pistons or rods are the way to go. I started out bolting the trees at first (you can actually see some, I think there's one on the tree by the well) and then the bolts started disappearing too! The rods/pistons that are stiff and then attached to a piece of dark matter are the only things I've found that don't disappear. :O2009-12-11 18:42:00

Stick it to material, then stick onto the floor.

Or does it not stick AT ALL?

If it's the trees I"m thinking of, it doesn't matter if you glue them. They will inevitably unglue when you glue something else in the level. 2009-12-11 19:03:00

Is this the mushroom tree your talking about? I think that glitches with glue all the time. Those trees aren't even glued in Mm levels.2009-12-11 20:05:00

Really? Wow... I guess I never really played with them before to notice. I make my own trees anymore so not sure.

I just plopped one in an empty level and stuck some invisible DM to it and made several copies. Seemed to work fine, but maybe I needed to stick something else in the level and glue that to see un-gluing to happen? Or do I need to save and revisit?

It seems to me that once you start glueing things in other portions of the level, they'll start randomly unglueing. And it won't be all of them. It'll be just one or two random ones. We had trees in the beginning of centralia that we actually took out because we couldn't figure out why they were randomly coming undone.2009-12-11 21:14:00

Invisible square of thin dark matter, glue it in front of tree. Done.
Or..... glue a small piece of dark matter to the front AND back, then attach 3 rods to the sides of the tree and attach the rods to offscreen dark matter. Next, wrap 8 yards of duct tape around the outside edge of the rods further strengthening the rods attachment to the trees (there's a sticker for this). Finally, encase the tree in invisible rubber and glue the rubber to the floor. Add a few rusty nail decorations to the front of the tree. Done.

^You forgot to bolt it down to some pink floaty, string that up to some rockets, and throw in a skateboard just in case.2009-12-12 06:51:00

And add a searchlight near it so you can monitor the tree day and night.

All FANTASTIC ideas! We WILL stabilize these trees!

Wow.... use our patented "Flamingo vehicle stabalizing system" to stabilize trees - brilliant!
