Hi, this problem ONLY occurs when my ps3 has booted up lbp, even after quitting the game, psn will still be affected. Up untill 2 LBP updates my keyboard worked fine. But after i did the second last update my keyboard tends to be a weirdo... in wich i mean lets say from 9 AM to 1-2 PM it will work normal, and after that (it seems to get worse the later the time) it will start getting messy. For example if i would want to say: 'hi, how's the level going?' it would say 'hhhhhhh ,,, ows tttthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeee llvvvvvvvvvveellll goooooooinnnnnnnnng??????????' So at first i thought it was the keyboard that had 'done' his time, but after trying another one the same problem still exists. Then i was like 'maybe its the usb extension cable' (for making the wire longer) ... NO! Maybe my profile is too big and for some weird reason my keyboard gets affected??? so after deleting lots of costumes and some objects and cleaning moon... NO! FACTS: It isnt lag, its not the keyboard, its not the cable, not my profile, only when LBP has been booted (no other game gives me this problem) any other opinions or known solutions...? or someone with same problems? Anything i try in google will result in the blabla update will fix keyboard lag... but were long past that point... dunno if this would affect it but here are some off my details: 2nd generation ps3 60gb, fully up to date with firmware, azerty keyboard 'french-type' so my keyboard settings are on french on ps (although im dutch XD), im in Belgium (Europe) and for my country i have the 'best' (or almost best) internet provider. if u would need any other details, just ask... the point in me asking for help is to know if i am the only one with this problem, and if so there is any solution... because LBP is probably where i've spend most of my ps3 time, and having to use headset or popit text isnt always as possible/fun/quick/whatever. thx already ^^

FACTS: It isnt lag, its not the keyboard, its not the cable, not my profile, only when LBP has been booted (no other game gives me this problem How do you know it's not lag? I'm guessing you disconnected from online, then tried LBP? There may be keyboard and mouse settings within the PS3 settings that could be causing problems, but you say this only happens with LBP. I'm really not sure. Does it always happen? When did it start happening? Does it happen sometimes? Or all the time?

Because it happens all the time, even when not online (but to make sure ill try it again).. But only around the hours (give or take) i say.. So for example i can still type correctly untill 1PM then it slowly starts 'forgetting a letter or typing it multiple times like the key would be stuck' and then at 3PM any messages are totally unreadable. Thats why i think it doesnt have anything to do with my settings, cause its correct in the morning - noon. And yes it only happens with LBP, but it will affect PSN at the same time im on, or just quit LBP. It started happening, not this LBP update but the one before. EDIT: just rebooted PS3, signed out of PSN and then booted LBP, same problem, so its not lag/internet

It might be your USB port on the PS3. Try a different one and see if the keyboard still has problems. The USB ports contacts can become loose if you have been plugging and unpluging USB sticks/Keyboards,and as the PS3 heats up over time the loose contacts gap get wider causing loss of signal, that might be the problem. OR Unplug your keyboard,wipe the keyboard from your registered USB devices on the PS3 system settings,then plug it back in and re register it. Hope one of these solves the problem for you.

It's yet another bug with LBP I'm afraid. I've had the same thing with my controller months ago. It just seems to be something in the game that makes the typing go all weird and intermittent. You choose a letter and nothing happens so you keep trying and then it eventually recognises all the times you pressed the button/key and puts them all in at once. I swapped controllers and it worked ok but then the next day the one that went weird was fine again. Go figure !!

Hey that happens to me sometimes.. if you have a keypad. well it may be because it haves no charge.. if its a keyboard well maybe the keyboard is broken.. or LBP loading may cause it.. because when i use my keypad and i want to say um like hey how are you?.. i cant press enter untill the loading is gone.. and it sometimes says hEeey HooOoww areeee yuuuu?? but i dont know if the loading makes it like that

And i try'd other keyboard so its not broken. but thx for trying to help though

Hope one of these solves the problem for you. ill try this when i wake up... its now 6.33am and nobody (using nobody as a name makes for weird sentences, i know) kept me up (not really against my will but ok...) thx for your responses

for the time being it works again i unplugged and used another usb port (while ive done this before) now it actually seems to work... thanks for all your comments and opinions

Apparently there has been a known problem with controller pairing since the last system update,something I haven't suffered so I knew nothing about. Help is coming for those who are suffering from this in the guise of the OPTIONAL 3.15 system update ,due for release shortly.
