DLC other than stickers and costumes

Archive: 9 posts

I'm looking to round out my collection of level creating fodder with the DLC bits, and I'm wondering if there's anything other than stickers and costumes to be had beyond what's found in the MGS, History, Monster, Music and Festive Kits. I'm particularly looking for sounds, lights, and materials.

Hmmm, actually I just discovered that the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Pack includes a sound object...could anybody shed some light on what this offers? I'm thinking of buying that pack mostly for those sounds, and am wondering if there's much to them.

Thanks as always for any assistance!

There's a music pack if you're interested in it. It's quite good I hear. Also, the sound object in ICO is waste of money. Youtube it.2009-12-07 05:55:00

Ah yes! Thanks for pointing that out...I should have included the music pack in my list of known content. I do have that one and I concur that it's quite good.

Thanks for the tip about ICO too. I was hoping to scrounge a few more potential robot noises, especially a continuous one...do you know if ICO pack has anything like that?

ICO pack has great sound effects imo. I used it to make the hover sound on my robot character (on the south pole if you wanna check it out) I really love that whole sound pack - very versitile.2009-12-07 06:24:00

Your most welcome Let me know how you like it. I've found a ton of uses for the sounds in that pack. Especially the sword and rock crumbling sounds. The Colossus ones are great for bosses too. Trick is to layer the sounds with other ones or modify them using speed sensors. It's great fun!2009-12-07 19:51:00

Wow, I just got to play with the ICO sounds, and for my purposes they are really great! More well rounded than I had hoped in fact. For other's reference, there are sixteen sounds (five continuous), most of which are generic enough to pass for a variety of foley effects. Aside from the colossal rumblings, there's some wind and windmill noises, a horse, an eagle, and an interesting "sword song" that changes quite a bit as you move the slider. It's maybe a tough call whether it's worth the price of the pack if all you're really after is the sounds, but personally I'm happy I bought them.2009-12-08 00:34:00

Certainly, and it's probably a great deal if you value all of that. The complete contents are listed here (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en-us/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/ico_and_shadow_of_the_colossus_costume_kit).

I'm just not into ICO myself, so the new sound effects were my main consideration, and I meant my comments really just for others in the same situation.
