Sticker Bug 'doing my head in'

Archive: 15 posts

I've been trying to make a level for a couple of days now for the OC contest but the sticker bug is driving me mad. It seems even worse since Leerdammer than it was before and is slowing my creating down no end. I just can't find a way around it at all and just wish Mm would sort out a fix for it. They've known about it long enough.

Anyway here are a few pics taken in create mode of one of the problem areas. There are several but this is just one. Bear in mind that the area in these pics actually has NO STICKERS at all on it !

More pics of the same area. These and the previous ones were all taken pretty much at the same time. They just kept changing as I moved around or even just moved the camera angle !2009-12-06 20:33:00

man bugs are just all over you lately...maybe they see your title. Yea this same thing is starting to appear on my OC level too and the only way i can think of to fight it is to just trim the bugged part off and start a new shape.2009-12-06 20:41:00

what is the glitch

It's not a glitch, it's a 'BUG' that Mm need to fix.

Stickers will start flickering weither they are too huge or too many. (as in "worse than before")

No guys you've got the wrong end of the stick.

As I said, the area where the different 'stickers' are showing up doesn't even have any stickers on it. If you look at the first picture in post 2 you''ll see that's actually part of my costume !!

It's nothing to do with the size of them. Why should 'stickers' show up where there aren't any at all. That's the bug and it's really annoying because they show up in play mode too which totally ruins the look of the level.

Does it happen in play mode, too?

If so, the only thing you can do is to cut the material into smaller, more manageable chunks. We had the same problem with the intro for the logic pack, which I why you see seams in the material every-so-often. That's too bad its gotten worse... Just split it into smaller pieces, I s'pose.

Meh, this bug is as annoying as rotten cheese. But I suggest to do what comp said. If that doesn't work, delete the material and start again.

Bugs happen, bugs suck, and you seem to get alot

How come I don't see this bug in levels online? Either the bug is too new for it to be seen, or the bug doesn't happen when it's in a published level.2009-12-08 04:00:00

You can't really trust that, as even the photo function has bugs in them

Actually, it's all about the size, amount and how close/overlap they are to eachother. I have this bug in all my levels i've published and it has taken me weeks to cover them up!
The solution that works for me is to cover the places where it occurs with a thin layer in the same color.
I really whish mm would add a paintbucket so we could paint objects in solid colors, that would solve sooooo much problems.

unfortunately, the bug is really old (i think it was there since the beta) and it does appear in published levels

Thanks M-M but that is a thin layer cover that it's happening on. Sorry it's difficult to tell from those pics. I tried to upload them to photobucket and make them bigger but at the time the site wouldn't work. Every time I tried IE just closed it down. I guess I was having a bad day with technology all round lol.

You have this too? I thought I was alone.
In my Iceberg Survival level, the background (thin white wood un stickered) turned black on the right hand side and flashes dissolve green from time to time.
I guess what I am trying to say is, you're not on your own with this bug.
I am unsure if it is visible in play mode as it does not always occur. (i.e. don't play my level just to see the bug)
