Deleting/editing posts
Archive: 8 posts
Hi i think that if you make a thread you should be able to delete or edit posts within the thread this would be especially useful in the forum games for example: If someone posts something that brakes the rules they would be able to delete this post to avoid confusion... | 2009-12-06 11:55:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
this would only be viable in forum games, ie in other threads they could delete bad posts and edit them to make them say; I think your idea is great! Also i think you should be able to lock your own threads but thats completely different | 2009-12-06 13:29:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
Also i think you should be able to lock your own threads but thats completely different Yeah i was thinking that but i thought it might be a bit too much that could be useful if you asked a question and once it's answered you could lock the thread. | 2009-12-06 17:02:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Go to "Edit Post". Scroll under the box and go to "delete post". I think with the ultimate bundle it just goes away completely, but normally it shows a small deleted post bar (I think.) | 2009-12-07 03:12:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
It doesn't show up if you delete the post (though the moderators and admins can see deleted posts). But regarding the original question, i have a feeling that this priveledge could easily be abused, and would probably create more problems than solutions. If you need a specific post deleted, you can probably talk to a moderator, and if its a good reason it will probably be deleted. An example of this is the LBPC The Game thread, where a recent influx of spam was kindly deleted by Comphermc because it was off topic and disruptive to the thread. | 2009-12-07 03:42:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
Yeah, if you guys ever need anything, we're always here to lend a hand. Just look for the blue names. I'm fairly certain you can delete your own posts by editing it (and then checking the 'delete post' box). If you cannot, then that must be a bundle advantage. I know for certain that some of the bundles allow you to delete your own threads, but locking them should remain a mod responsibility. Imagine this: Someone posts a thread that isn't necessarily offensive, but allows room for heated debate. Then, he or she locks the thread so others can't post. It just doesn't seem right. I'm sure there are other examples, but I just can't be bothered to think of them. And yes, we can see your deleted posts. lol! I wish I could thank you, but then I'd have to thank my own post Edit: I searched it. I can clearly see a bar that says "this message has been deleted by oldage". https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8095&page=6 | 2009-12-07 04:36:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
