Venture through a forest while avoiding local critters and tribal bunnies - but beware! Odd surprises await deep in these woods!

Will have screenshots and videos shortly

(Apologize if I am doing something wrong posting this in its own thread, but I'm starting to deviate from the storyline of the main series anyway. This isn't considered act 6 or anything like that.)

All comments and critique appreciated and will F4F

Each level is allowed it's own thread, so you are in the clear.

I'll be adding this to my level queue for the day. Cheers.

First of all, let me say I'm a BIG fan of the Epic Bunny series. I can't believe it's been around a year since the release of the first one. Great stuff!

So... I saw this appear on the showcase and I got REALLY excited! So I ran to the PS3, kicked my son off Super Mario WII, and played it.... I hate to tell you this but..... I absolutely....

Loved it!

Great graphical style, tons of decorations, and the gameplay is superb. Every obstacle well really well thought out and had a lot of movement and fun to it. No cheap deaths! You really put the time and energy into making every piece of this gem a fun experience.

If I had to give any kind of suggestion, it would be that there were a couple places where it was a tad dark and it was difficult to see if where I was jumping was "safe". However, this is really minor because generally when I jumped into those areas they were not cheap deaths. Generally it was when the camera angle was dead on and there was an opening to jump in to.

:star::star::star::star::star: and a heart... and I gave you a creator heart. Great job!

Thanks so much both, glad you enjoyed it If I haven't already, I'll return the f4f as soon as I can.

In most of the dark places I use a little dummy light just to light up the platform edges for that very reason.

I've been delaying this too long, I'll try to get the next one out sooner

On the dark sections... just so you don't misunderstand, when a platform is lit up I wouldn't say anything - I use that technique quite a bit myself. It was a "couple" spots where the front thin layer material was obscuring where I was trying to jump and it was a bit dark... nothing big, and nothing that I would lower a rating on - just a minor observation.

I had a good time playing this level, I'm not one for bosses-- but I've always liked this boss mechanic! Nothing earth-shattering but quality. Everything looked and moved great... lots of tweaking must have gone in to this baby... it was tight.

I play in a darkened cave... so I had no problems with the darker sections and the ghosts really popped! Loved the subtly of the layer glitch... at least I'm pretty sure those guys were zooming beyond the norm 7. It was... a little different, I liked it very much... mildly challenging... great work!

Hey Foofles!

Just played your level, and I instantly had Donkey Kong Country flashbacks (which is a good thing, since it's the best platforming game ever made!). Some very nice challenges and timing-heavy platforming sequences in here which means I'll be back to improve my score later on. The bunnies were both cute and funny, the story was smartly conveyed and it made the player want to finish the level, which is a great achievement all by itself. The high points for me were the two bunny bowmen on the trees while going up after the three bunny hunters in the background, and - of course - the boss fight, which was both fun and fair, all while not leaving the player guessing what to do. I died to most of those platforms that gave way under Sackboy's feet, but that must've been because I wasn't done with my afternoon coffee yet. One thing I felt could use some improvement is the lighting in the third quarter of the level - some platforming sections were either too dark, or the foreground blended in too much with the background layers, but other than this I found nothing wrong with the level. A great effort all around.

Pros:
+ Fun and thrilling platforming
+ Enjoyable and fair boss fight
+ Intriguing story
Cons:
- Could use better lighting at places

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: without much hesitation. Great effort!

Since I just made a thread for my F4F level (see sig), I wanted to to some F4F reviews,
you where the second of three levels I wanted to review today.
first of all, what sny said.. I had a decent donkey kong country feel when playing this.

Visuals:
I did really like the way your level looked, and I really liked the bunnies, the arrow shooting ones and the birds flying off when you get near.
Even jumping from monster to monster.. havent done that since DK.
Even though I died a lot at the first monster2monster jump's because the grabbing mechanism came down a little too slow for me.

there where no disturbing things in sight, besides two.
At the thirds checkpoint you can jump quite high when using the jump-pad's and you can actually get as high as the switches/logic you placed in your level, that drawed me out of the theme for a moment.
Also where there are two gosts going up and down and you have to pull on a block to gain access to higher grounds, you can actually jump down the level by pressing down and the jump button.
Again I saw more swtiches, this could easily be avoided by a thin layer blocking off access, or a new think layer.

I really liked the platform elements and the bunny's really added to the experience,
Also the ghost-bunnies where a nice welcome change halfway trough the level.
There was some variation in the level which is good and makes everything less repetative for the eye.

I also enjoyed the boss, though the boss was quite easy.. everything made sense without having to think twice and I made it to the finish.

I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: because your level allready had 4 stars and I wanted to give 4.5 stars for it, and I marked it as "Good" because it is a good level.
And!! I even hearted it, and I almost never heart levels unless I really enjoyed them.

I would suggest the author to keep working on his visuals and gameplay because every player that will play the authors future maps will have more of a blast than I had in the past 10 or so minutes by playing this level.

Best level I reviewed out of three.

Thanks for such detailed feedback Will check out your levels.

I actually hadn't thought of what you mentioned with the 2 ghosts area and being able to jump down, I'll try to fix that.

Hiya foofles,
I hadn't played any of your 'bunnies' series before so I played a couple of them today. You have a great style and I think your 'vicious' bunnies ideas goes really well with LBP. LBP has a kinda cute savagery and your arrow shooting bunnies fit in perfectly.

I agree with the feedback so far that the 'woods' level is excellent if a little dark in places. I loved the variety of platformy action throughout the level and never got bored. The section with 2 ghosts and the sponge block and the skull... I couldn't move the block! I eventually made it by vaulting over the candle and grabbing the chain. This might have been what you intended but it was a little hard to work out... and a bit of tough jump.

I thought the boss was great. Lots of movement without being too tricky. I'm going to be contraversial here and suggest you make the infinite lifepoint an '8-lifer'. The boss is tricky but not hard and for me it takes away tension when you know there is no real cost to dying. DK has already been mentioned in this thread and those old levels got tense when you got close to your final life. However if you did change this, maybe take the boss' life points down 1.

I loved your use of the history pack stickers on the architecture. I spent a while making a church using some of those stickers, and your castle is simply amazing. The ways bunnies pop out of windows and platforms collapse around you is great design.

Having played the first bunny level today and now this, the progression in your visuals and gameplay is obvious. 5* from me and an author heart.

Could you please review my Peculiar pine of puzzlewood (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=19592) level for F4F please

Thank you so much and yes I will get to that and everyone else's so far tonigiht

Very odd though that you couldn't move the sponge block... I guess it got stuck under the pillar . Hmm... I may have to look into this.
