6,925 levels online to date!

Not bad for two weeks!

How many of them are worth playing is an entirely different question though

Wow, and I haven't seen a single H4H level!

Although there's been a few annoying bomb survivals already

I've found about 6 or 7 levels that I found worthy of "keeping" on my downloaded levels list....

Not bad at all. Unfortunately I think only about 1% are worth playing. I usually see a lot of "My 1st level!" type things when I check the newest uploads (like it was for LBP PS3). Plus how many of them visit LBPC to know the workarounds for the create mode bugs? 2009-12-04 16:54:00

Wow... I was expecting a lot, but nearly 7,000 already? How many of you want to bet 95% of these levels use Glockenpop? =P I liked that song.. I really did.. but now, despite the lyrics (which is ironic), I'm sooo sick of hearing it >_<2009-12-04 18:16:00

You'll be happy to know I took special care *not* to include Glockenpop in my first level. 2009-12-04 18:23:00

Well, the apparent lack of H4H levels adds fuel to the flame for the argument of H4H being directly tied to the heart trophy (whatever it's called). It seems that if there isn't a reward for obtaining hearts, then people will tend to earn them on their own. I expect spamming to pick up, though... sometime right after the holidays (when all the kiddies [and me] get it as a gift).2009-12-04 18:33:00

Honestly I rarely play with the music turned up...but I love that song

Not necessarily.... since they wipe out hearts every time you republish, AND there is no cool levels to rise up through it means that in LBP if you removed hearts, trophies, and and ways of getting large quantities of plays H4H would disappear....

Ah, I guess I didn't understand how the new publishing system works.

Thanks.

Yeah, it's still a great song. I just guess that since it's one of the first you get and most tend to go into create mode straight away to try it out, it gets overused. So far I'm not sick of Neopolitan Dreams =P

You know, I just thought.. with such an influx of levels, I'm pretty sure very good ones by people who don't advertise them will be buried under crud =(

Human crud?
Fertilizer?

Which is exactly why we must spread the word about LBPC! For great justice!

Note to self... the next time I release a level for LBP PSP, make sure at the same time I have a level floating on cool pages where I can advertise it.....

(cool idea, eh?)

PS3 to PSP cross-promotion? I wonder if that would really work. It's kind of hard to tell how many people have LBP on both PS3 and PSP.2009-12-04 23:32:00

I don't know.... but it is certainly worth a try. Maybe after Christmas when we know many people have received LBP PSP we should give it a shot and see if the play count shoots way up.

It certainly couldn't HURT. And, in fact, if players start seeing that some top quality creators are building games for it, that might sell more copies of the game.

Tell you what.... how about if some of us agree to Sony that if they get the create mode issues fixed soon, we start cross advertising to see if it will help them sell more?

So if you download levels, can you then keep them on your psp for good? So i could get like 100 levels on my psp and play them while to connected to the internet in the car?2009-12-06 19:56:00

Yes. You can have 200 or 250 levels (not sure which is the correct maximum). They stay on your PSP until you delete them.

Another question: I don't have a wireless modem, I have only used USB and remote play on my PSP so far. Is there a way to download levels without one?2009-12-06 21:22:00

Buy a WiFi Max for your home computer. It's a simple USB device that mimics the functionality of a wireless router. You can find them on eBay for $30 USD. They do take some configuring, but it's pretty straightforward to figure out.
Find a free wireless access point somewhere near where you live. In the US you can find them in coffee shops, libraries, and anywhere else people tend to hang out. You don't need to be online to play levels, just to download them.

That's a shame. It's technically capable, as shown by remote play. I hope Sony adds this some day.

Yeah, that was my backup plan. Some of my friends do have a wireless network, I'll just bring along my PSP next wednesday.

Until then, though, you're friend's WiFi is the way to go. There's nothing wrong with good old-fashioned piggybacking.

No luck yet, they got WPA2 or something, PSP doesn't support it. But I remember tethering my Android phone to get my laptop online, I'm gonna see if I can get that to work with my PSP.2009-12-10 13:42:00

Your PSP should support that protocol. WPA2 = TKIP. Alternately, tethering with your Android is an option too provided it supports a wireless connection.

I'm not sure what protocol it was, but it showed up as greyed out, with something like 'unsupported' as the protocol name. The tethering has also failed; the apps I used require software installed on my laptop. Apparently there's one other app that would work, but I'd have to root the G1, to give it the low level access it needs. Seems like too much of a hassle...

Still can't believe they didn't build this into the PS3. It's so simple and obvious!

Your G1 would also have to support promiscuous wireless mode, which isn't likely even with hacking. I say just buy a WiFi Max and be done with it.2009-12-11 14:36:00

I don't mind Glockenpop.
Also, I am the opposite. I always like to have everything before I go into a create mode or any level builder in any game.

I only found 1 stage I call worthy of staying on my moon.
