Well as someone who has completed many rubiks cubes I have always wanted to do this, but unlike claculators, logic is very difficult.

If Iwas to give you some advice i would say try doing a 4X4 cube first and build upwards. also if you need a beta tester i will help.

but that will be a while off yet.

I would guess that it's almost impossible to do since a rubiks cube has to be turned in all directions and you must see the backside to solve it. If you find some good way to solve that problem, please inform me 2009-12-04 17:14:00

It's a cube. Cubes are 3d and you can't make 3d in a 2d game. If you can, hit me.2009-12-05 10:50:00

No it is totally possible to make the rubiks cube or at least something that works like a rubiks cube, It would just be incredibly difficult on the thermo. It will be a challenge to do but one i would love to see done and done well.2009-12-05 10:58:00

hmmmm..... this might not look as good but you could maybe have the 6 faces shown facing the camera in a line (thats really hard to explain in words)2009-12-05 16:30:00

i figured you can just do one face to make it easier.
have a bunch of cubes with colors lined up in rows and columns that all intersect at the "face" everything else but the face will be hidden from view, just have a blank block that wont be used at the end of each row with and column with a piston to push the cubes up and down or left and right, the cubes cant be connected to each other so you will need invisible layer glass to hold the rows and columns up when they are not in the "face" area.

hope that makes sense

Seeing the cube from all directions really isn't the problem, the problem is how to turn the cube and actually solve it 2009-12-05 21:24:00

Thats a slide puzzle. Im pro at those.

That would be much easier to make.

You could have a 3x3x3 cube using all three layers and then...

My head hurts.

because there does not need to be ANY logic.
i am makeing one now.
but i tryed to make something like a cube, but ended in a big epicfaill, and i mean all of it glitching and it exploded.

I once had the idea of creating a rubik's cube like puzzle. Never initiated and attempt, but you could have only three faces showing. The player is able to "rotate" (changing the three faces in some sort of way) somehow the player could be told what face he is looking at, this would probably end up creating a huge logic system. I would like to see if you get any progress.2009-12-14 03:04:00
