My brothers deviant art inspires my lbp creations

It really does. I love the ridiculous detail that goes into his work and it really impresses me. I'm not much of a visual artist (only auditory ![]() I keep telling him to go to Media Molecule to present his portfoilio for sticker pack consideration but he's not listening ![]() The original images are at a resolution high enough to comfortably fit on a3. We've actually got a print of the first image below on the wall of our living room, looks so nice. Twice upon a time in the West http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs32/f/2008/231/d/7/Twice_upon_a_time_in_the_West_by_danevilparker.jpg Airmada Escape from Gas Giant http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs22/f/2008/014/8/7/Airmada_Escape_from_Gas_Giant_by_danevilparker.jpg Around the World in 80 Ways http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/331/4/5/Around_the_World_in_80_Ways_by_danevilparker.jpg Any of you guys feel inspired too? ![]() http://danevilparker.deviantart.com/ | 2009-12-02 21:34:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
Those are amazing! Like really... WOW! How does he make them? | 2009-12-02 21:48:00 Author: Leather-Monkey ![]() Posts: 2266 |
He draws them all individually by hand, then imports them into photoshop, messes with the contrast to make the lines solid blocks and then colours, shades, textures and arranges them. So much work goes into some of those pictures it's silly. | 2009-12-02 21:57:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
Very cool stuff! If we ever get an import image tool in LBP you two should collaborate on a level...I think his visual style would lend itself well to LBP. | 2009-12-03 00:36:00 Author: fullofwin ![]() Posts: 1214 |
Wow!! Very cool! I can see why you would be inspired! Quite colorful and zany. Awesome! Thanks for sharing! ![]() | 2009-12-03 00:42:00 Author: jwwphotos ![]() Posts: 11383 |

A http://bobscrafts.com/bobstuff/maze.gif ing. I love it. I wish I had drawing awesome powers. They look so awesome and pretty. They inspire me as well. I do have a few questions, however. How old is he? (Just wondering, don't need to answer that if you don't want to) How long does it take on average? and WHY DOESN'T HE WORK FOR MM?!?!?!?!??!?!? Tell him that I would love it, as well as a lot of other people, if he did a sticker pack for MM. | 2009-12-03 03:28:00 Author: chezhead ![]() Posts: 1063 |
He should consider trying to get MM to let him make a sticker pack for them D: Just sayin. | 2009-12-03 04:23:00 Author: gofurr360z ![]() Posts: 886 |

Over 30 but no way near 40 ![]() Depends on the complexity, some of his stuff he can do in a couple of days but Twice upon a time in the west and especially 80 ways around the world take weeks and weeks. and I DON'T KNOW! ![]() | 2009-12-04 20:38:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
These are very good! Has he never heard of conceptart.com ? I'm sure he'd like it there. I'ts an art community, the best in my opinion. | 2009-12-04 21:47:00 Author: Chump ![]() Posts: 1712 |
I really ought to listen to my bro and people and try and do something, but I just do not know where the hell to start! Hoping to try for a larger audience in the new year, imagination and weirdness I have down, but experience and contacts are 2 things I do not have in bucket loads! Any suggestions gratefully received. This is what I got from him as a reply on dA when I asked why he doesn't work for MM. I really ought to listen to my bro and people and try and do something, but I just do not know where the hell to start! Where should he start?!? IDK, any of you? | 2009-12-04 23:32:00 Author: chezhead ![]() Posts: 1063 |
Any suggestions gratefully received. This is what I got from him as a reply on dA when I asked why he doesn't work for MM. Where should he start?!? IDK, any of you? I think, ideally, he needs to be infront of them with his portfolio with his nicely printed out A3 versions of these images. It really shows off the detail. A mere email won't cut it I don't think. Postage ideally, tracked? | 2009-12-05 01:13:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
Yes, postage would be awesome, along with a portfolio on LinkedIn. | 2009-12-05 01:54:00 Author: chezhead ![]() Posts: 1063 |
Yes, postage would be awesome, along with a portfolio on LinkedIn. Is he another deviant arter or is he an LBPC guy? | 2009-12-05 14:10:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
A little update then (and a shameless plug) My bro is having his 3rd art exhibition at the Jolly Brewer pub in Lincoln, where we both hail from. He has his latest 9 pieces up and they are all for sale from ?35 - ?50 If your in the east midlandsy area of the United Kingdoms then stop by for a gander! http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2009/341/5/e/Collection_III_Poster_Dec_09_by_danevilparker.jpg It's gonna be up from today until 3 weeks away. | 2009-12-20 21:12:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
It's been 6 months or so, and my bro is still inspiring me. The madness that comes from his noggin is a spectacle to behold indeed. It's the same sorts of respect I have for some of the nutters that make those ground breaking levels on LBP every couple of weeks or so. Anyways, here's a few of what he's been doing, I hope you get a kick out of them as much as I do; Electromohawk ElectromohawK, Indian Space Generator. Contains living quarters, staff, Power indicator, Van der graf spheres, Steam Unit, Office space, viewing gallery, Space blade for angling and dispersing overflow energy in space, annemometer for use in atmospheric conditions, and lucky feathers http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/166/a/f/ElectromohawK_by_danevilparker.jpg Eggycopters Eggycopters raising their young, pen and watercolour. 3 x 3 inches. http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/030/9/0/Eggycopters_by_danevilparker.jpg Fish Tank What it says on the tin... Pastel, spray paint and fine liner, just for funzies http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/134/d/7/Fish_Tank_by_danevilparker.jpg If you wanted to look at any more, heres the link to his page http://danevilparker.deviantart.com/gallery/ Also, if anyone here is a major goer of deviant art and has an account, feel free to send him a message saying something like that you agree with his brother and that he should contact Mm ![]() | 2010-06-25 03:42:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
Very cool stuff. I remember when you posted his other stuff several months back. Is [the background in] that top picture made using a spray-paint technique? | 2010-06-25 04:15:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |
It is indeed, he went into great detail explaining to me how he did it a few days ago. He sprayed the whole thing in layers of green and red and applied black shading, then he covered the 3 planety moon sections with a plate, a large mug and a deodorant lid respectively and then sprayed the space shading on. Theres also his left hand print in red (because a left hand print is an indian charm for luck, I think). I love it though, it's my 2nd favourite one, just behind Once upon a time in the West ![]() | 2010-06-25 13:12:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |

Is the fish tank one avaliable for purchase on dA? I'm actually thinking on buying that one. I've got to say though that I dont like so much the other ones; not that they are bad (you can easily tell the huge amount of work and talent that went into them) it's just that they aren't my thing. | 2010-06-25 17:01:00 Author: Keldur ![]() Posts: 628 |
Awesome. Looks like stuff I'd make. | 2010-06-25 17:47:00 Author: BasketSnake ![]() Posts: 2391 |
Awesome. Looks like stuff I'd make. What sort of stuff have you made? Any of it on here? Is the fish tank one avaliable for purchase on dA? I'm actually thinking on buying that one. He'd make it available if you wanted to buy it, he's a really easy guy to get on with, unlike myself LOL ![]() | 2010-06-25 19:35:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |

Sea Hag http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/100/0/3/Sea_Hag_by_danevilparker.jpg First thing I have painted in a few months, it has photographed really pale- bah! - it is more 'depthy' in real life, but hey, nevermind. Look no further, call the Federal Bureau of Investigation! Munch on Judy http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/306/9/d/Munch_on_Judy_by_danevilparker.jpg Mr Punch is going to rip out your tummy sausages! biro and watercolour Sail the Seven Teas http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2009/364/9/d/Sail_the_Seven_Teas_by_danevilparker.jpg Pen and Watercolour 3 x 3 inches -------------- That last one, sail the seven teas, I actually started a level based on that, made 4 or 5 different tea pot boats and kettle ships and stuff, but my bro's art style is too different from my own LBP style for me to extrapolate what the rest of the level should be like, which is a shame. I even had a ******* narrative for it, where god is making a cup of tea and he accidentally drops his tea bag in the ocean, brewing the entire planet! | 2010-06-29 20:05:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
