I was browsing through the cool pages and a level caught my eye because of the title: "LBPC: Noob Beat Down!!!" by GREEN_EGG_BOMBER. Intrigued and somewhat horrified, i entered the level to find that indeed, they did have a LBPC logo that they'd made themselves (similar to the one Takelow made, but of much poorer quality) and that the level was as original as the title suggested (push buttons to hit a monster pack dummy and get infinte points!) I didn't see either his level in the showcase, or his name as a user here... and that made me think that he was using the LBPC name without even being related to us. I'm somewhat afraid that people are using our name to represent levels of this quality o.o opinions, comments, info about said player, etc? /thread.

Should we stop giving our **** away as prizes? I mean, c'mon...Anyone can pick up the LBPC logo sticker...Keep it in a vault which is exclusive to LBPC members. We are elitists! Bwahaha!

Hmm, thanks for the heads up, BV. I'll check it out in a minute. But having read what you've said, I'm not sure that CC (or LBPC members) would be particularly pleased if the logo is being used inappropriately. It's not so much the quality of the level, so much as the fact that this player is 'advertising' LBPC while not being a member. I'll go and have a look...

I've never seen someone make a logo like that before, and if they were a member, wouldnt they try to use takelows, or grab the sticker?

You can't stop people having it if they want it. I myself got the logo by means of harvesting it from someone elses level and not from a prize bubble.

I think a lot of people don't know what LittleBigPlanet Central is, but they use the logo in their levels anyways because "al the othr cool pepl do it lololol."

Really? I mean, I know what you are saying, but if BV had gone and found an absolutely awesome level with the logo in and then found out the person wasn't a member, I'd expect the response to be very much different Gedouttofit - you know what I mean! Is the problem that the level is poor, or that he's using a logo? If you put a Ferrari badge on your Nissan Sunny, most people would laugh - but some kids might think it was a Ferrari.

Is the problem that the level is poor, or that he's using a logo? Honestly I think it's both. If it was zephyr valley, but made by a non-member, and had the LBPC logo then people would think it was odd, certainly, but I very much doubt anyone would be complaining about the endorsement from a random skilled creator. We would be happy for the free advertising as UltimateClay says. Also, a few of the people posting on this thread are specifically bothered by the quality of the level, so where do they stand on an LBPC member producing crap and putting a logo on it? We have no minimum standard of level creation skill to use the logo. Also, why would I want a ferrari badge, I've got a Rolls Royce Spirit of Ecstacy stuck on the bonnet with sticky-backed plastic

The best thing to do is just to continue to churn out amazing levels week after week... kind of like we've been doing for the past year really.

Never thought about this happening, but I can't say I'm too surprised. My guess is that this "creator" is from a different lbp site and could possibly be jealous of all the attention this site has been receiving lately. I haven't played the level myself so I shouldn't comment ><.

We can't really subject a standard quality. My comments were more towards why someone outside the community was using the logo. I guess it doesn't matter, but I would hope anyone using it would actually join and find out how cool this place.. rather than just passing out a marginal copy of the logo. Ok... back to create to induce more level churning.

As my last post wasn't that clear - I do think that their shouldn't be a minimum standard of quality for using it. That would be rediculous. I also don't think it matters that someone from outside the site is using it, really. I'm not saying everyone hates each other but I have seen a few things that I personally did not like, such as pictures that were uploaded on the Logic Pack levels. Clearly done by members of other sites(in some pictures they placed the logo of their site).

I don't really see a problem here either. If we draw a line at what levels can use our logo and what levels can't, then we'll have to start judging every level before providing the logo for use. How do we regulate the logo? How do we guarantee that someone won't just send it to their friend or find another way to spread it around? No, I don't think we have the right to be angry, because in all honesty, the LBPCentral logo represents more than the site now. It represents an entire fan-based community of Creators, registered and non-registered, and limiting its use is doing the exact opposite of what our logo represents.
