I've seen his name brought up in a few other threads, so I figured that I'd start one. Let's use this thread to talk about your favorites of his. For me, it's Twin Peaks hands down. Awesome show that might have lost a little of it's perfection in the second season, but more than made up for it with wtf-factor. I'm surprised that we haven't seen a lot more of Ray Wise and Kyle MacLachlan since then... Also, Blue Velvet - ******* that Sh**, Pabst Blue Ribbon!

For whatever reason, his movies have seemed to come up more often than any other filmmaker's on these forums. I consider him one of my favorite filmmakers, but at the same time I haven't really seen anything of his or talked about him outside of these forums for some time. He just inevitably comes up in any anonymous movie discussion. The most recent Lynch experience I had was Ronnie Rocket. His once followup to Eraserhead, it never got off the ground beyond a script, which is fully available online. Believe me. If you want a full-blown Lynchian experience, Ronnie Rocket delivers. Oh my GOD.

I recently got 3 books about Lynch out of the library because I was doing a writing assignment on an image I chose from the Elephant Man. One of them, Lynch on Lynch, I'm actually a good half-way through... its based on a series of interviews between him and the author, which is great cause he normally hates to talk about his films. Also, I just started watching Twin Peaks, only seen the first 3 episodes... It's very relaxing to watch, I love the theme tune. Even though I've only seen about half of his films, he's definitely within my top 3 directors. Although, some of his films aren't a very wholesome experience. Mulholland Drive... I didn't exactly come away from it feeling the warmth or fulfillment of an ending/conclusion be it happy or sad. I have watched most of his work through Netflix. I recommend "Mulholland Drive" and "Inland Empire". Both are very deep, and for most people including myself, confusing movies lol. I love them because you have to watch them many times to even understand what is going on. I admit I even had to go online and read about Inland Empire to try to get an idea of what it was about. Good stuff though.
