How do I change the color of dissolve material?

Archive: 12 posts

I see levels with objects of different colors that dissolve. How do I change the color? Is there a paint tool that I'm not aware of?

Also, how do I get these costume pieces in the game >>

Stickers! Use stickers on dissolve. You can even take pictures of other materials and use that on it if you want it to blend.

Not sure where those costume pieces are in the game. You might try searching in the Story Levels forum.

Like jwwphotos said, try using stickers for coloring dissolve material, or any material for that matter.

As for the costumes, the one is called the "chinese dragon mask". You can get it by completing the 4x player area in The Collector's Lair story level.

The one, I BELIEVE, is called the "cannonball hemet". I'm not entirely sure that this is the right one, I'd have to actually look at it in the game itself to be positive. Perhaps someone can confirm this? Anyways, you can get the "cannonball hemet" in the 2x player area of the Lowrider story level, which is the first level of The Metropolis.

Hope I helped!

Yep stickers is the easiest way, but you can also use a brain and a 1 shot switch to make any material dissapear when you want but still make it look like the same material only problem with that method is it gives the player points...2009-12-01 17:49:00

Yes, but it was patched many moons ago. You can still use it if you can find someone who has some saved, but you'd be hard pressed to find the right combination of materials...

Just search cow glitch - I found that dark matter floaty in a copyable level that had most materials glitched into most other materials - all neatly arganised and everything. There were quite a few levels out there with similar, so I don't think you'll be hard pressed to find it.

true, but dissolvant doesnt look as soft as cloth and sometimes that can be a real pain in the neck.2009-12-03 12:18:00

but that doesnt work in every situation.
I got a rope with a dissolvant material that gets triggered in at least four parts of the level. a few for automatic raising/lowering the rope, one for player-interactive raising/lowering and when the player proceeds far enough the dissolvant dissolves.

it might work when you start out focussing on a demit/remitter, but in this case im 60% done with the level and it would be to much of a pain to re-design everything when its linked with almost everything in the level.

Ive seen your tutorials, no worries there.
