I need 3 creators to help me create a super metroid style level with unique enemies, back-tracking, and innovative gameplay.
It would have a hovership (that controls exactly like the magic carpet in LBP PSP) and you could travel around the "dungeon" in it. You would have to complete a few rooms, then get an upgrade, ie: paintinator, in your ship, and then you can go back to rooms previously unbeatable and use the paintinator to beat it. And another upgrade would be bombs on your ship that you can drag out into rooms. It would be puzzles and platforming.
We could even make it a series of levels instead of just one.

I need 3 creators who are very artistic and can make creatures and dungeons. If you want to be one of these 3, you need a headset (or keyboard) to communicate, a fast internet connection, and i need to see one of your previous levels before letting you help.
If you want to help, send me a friend request on PSN and in the request tell me you want to help with the level.
I am particularly artistic and experienced with LBP, but ive only published one level, that is not very good because it overheated, so i couldnt go back and polish it, and i didnt know the importance of the corner editing tool.
But now i do and im ready to work with anyone good enough.

I probably wrote too much.

I'm interested but I haven't played too much of Super Metroid but I'm a huge fan of Metroid Prime but I am aware of the style. I was thinking making the whole level dark and using green and yellow lights to illuminate a stony like surface throughout the levels if ya know what I mean.

its hard to do,
If you want the level to be huge, you have to sacrifice on material/detail usage a lot.
If you make it small, you will easily loose the real free-roam feel metroid had.
It is possible offcourse to create a few maps and have them intertwine with eachother by using stickers that can unlock certain doors in different levels.
problem with that is, people need to accept the new stickers unless all the work in other levels is useless.

Even though, try, try, try and never give up.

Thanks for the suggestion.
i think ill make it medium sized with maybe five or six different materials, and then have a decent amount off backtracking.
i might have to sacrifice a couple of ideas to do this but itll give it that free-roam feel.

ill also prolly make several levels, like a series, but i might have the sequels locked and you have to play them in order and beat them to get the next.

i might do the sticker thing too, ill just put it in the description to turn on community prizes.

Cool, I'll start working on the level and add you on PSN.
i think we could do the green light thing but have a lot less than the real game did, because it would kill the thermometer.
but nice suggestion, i hadnt really thought of it.

im not really trying to remake super metroid, just have a level inspired by it, with a different story and similar enemies.

oh, and i could put a lot of detail in a long level, if you need examples of this, check out GEK83's levels. They're really long and the detail is the best ive ever seen in littlebigplanet. But he only has like 200 plays on most of his levels.2009-12-02 22:57:00

I would love to help! I may not have the best experience but I am willing to donate a door that I have created that works like the doors in super metroid.

Also, it's possible to connect the levels together. Each level would be a different area.

The first level could be just a cinematic introduction, and at the end of it you unlock the first area of your game. And for instance, you might need to get into a room that's locked because you don't have the right item/sticker so sometimes you need to play another level and find that item and go back to the previous.

Just some ideas.

I like the idea.

to many stickers will give sticker-glitches.
it should be well balanced between materials and stickers.
