I was snooping around the MM blog archives and found a old LBP trailer with a danger tool we don't have, ice. this would be epicz and allow for Tonnes of new gameplay, and since MM already programed it, all they have to do is transfer that code to the current update. LINKY (http://www.mediamolecule.com/2008/05/20/recent-coverage-of-lbp/) (I know this is a beta release and is more than 1 year old.)

They removed it because they couldn't get it to work how they wanted. And they couldn't overcome the problem of if your stood on a flat plane of ice as a cube, you shake the controller to unfreeze then instantly freeze again. So it may come back in the future but not before they've worked something out for that.

maybe if instead of instant freezing it acted like the big iceberg from Super smash brothers, where it just slows your movement a bit and freezes you occasionally

Maybe they could work out a system that meant three consecutive freezes means death? Surely that wouldn't be hard to do? Would it?

Maybe MM will bring it back as part of the 'exiting new kit' that the water trailer was referring to... And to solve the freezing problem, it could be like this: When you are frozen on ice and break free: The iceblock breaks into shards, unfortunately the sackboy breaks too. When a friend has pushed you or you have glided to some not freezing material: The block of ice breaks and sackboy is free. If you fall from high: he block of ice breaks and sackboy is free. If you glide to fire: The block of ice will melt, but leave a small block of ice so you can jump from it before burning. Then the small iceblock melts. EDIT: The iceblock could emit snow particles to make it look better, and it would be a great way to do snowy weather. (Just have a long block of dark matter that has the ice hazard on top of the level)

Well, i was thinking.... why say "PART of an exciting new pack" What is in the pack besides water and water tools....Maybe they'll bring ice back... water is related to ice.... maybe it will happen, just maybe....

or they will just ask you to pay money for it in a later ice-related pack. though.. its winter.. around x-mas having snow/ice available would be nice.. but god.. how many x-mas levelswould that produce.. how many snowboard levels.. how many save the polar-bomb-running but.. it will also result in a few nice pearls and as you know.. every snowflake is unique
