When you pick up a magnet swich (or related item), it retains it's displayed size and orientation, rather than reverting back to defaults. After profile space, this is the best thing out of the beta.

Also, they have changed the sound when you overtake someone on the leaderboard. It's not ever-so-slightly more annoying.

No, I don't mean when you actually PLACE the sticker. Just hovering a sticker over a sticker trigger gives an audible sound to let you know if you're using the right sticker or not. It even does that when the triggers aren't visible..

Shoot, back to the drawing board.

Edit:Oh, HOLD UP! I've got a solution...hehehe. Phew, I thought I was going to have to think up another concept.

That's terrible, but I suppose it helps you when your trying to place a sticker precisely. Is it a loud, irritating sound?

Wait what do you mean RTM?

About the switches? It used to be that when you picked up a magnetic switch to move it, by selecting it and pressing triangle, it would always go back to being upright and the normal size.

Now it stays pointing in the same direction, so you can pick it up and change it ever so slightly. I make a lot of logic, most of which uses angle sensors and a lot of it has sensors facing at strange angles - tweakig these is now so much easier.

GreyMRP, what is your sticker solution?

I just added ANOTHER sticker trigger than can use any ol' sticker to activate it. It'll play the "correct" sticker sound regardless if they have the right sticker or not. Hopefully this'll prevent the player from cheating and make 'em THINK!

I noticed some other things.
-When you slide around on the pages like the scoreboard and the discription and the like, it's a bit smoother.
-Text flows into the speech bubbles that pop up.

Feel free to add me as a friend and join me so we can OC!

Everything's awesome! RIP profile space message!

Online create's fun. Me and NA were fooling around. I place a motorcycle, then secretly added an emitter to it so that if you grab it to go, dynamite appears and blows up in your face
Fun times!!

One sad thing: looks like the 'try again' glitch is gone. The one where you puff up, press start, and stay puffed up.

But I can live with that

EDIT: Have any of you beta-goers tried importing levels yet?

Notes so far on Leerdammer:
"Busiest" and a few other auto-sorts don't work.

I saved all 6 Lone Ninjas onto my moon, and got no profile warning. Backed them up to hard drive.

Deleted all levels from moon, picked blank crater. Now have "Import" button as well as "Create". Pulled a Lone Ninja off my hard drive back to moon, no issues.

I can see my level file size now - looks like "true" thermo max is a little over 1.2 MB. No more imaginary "I think my shapes thermo is 90%..." If your thermo is maxed, you can back up, read your actual file size, then go back and fix something.

Backed up a file from my "stealth profile". Saved to hard drive, then copied to coyote_blue's profile. Rebooted as coyote_blue, imported file to his moon. No issues. Level was "created by" my stealth file until changed something and saved, then authorship transferred flawlessly. My stealth profile is now pointless, since I can "auto kick" now. If I ever exceed 20 levels, I can funnel levels from coyote_blue to alternate personae right before publishing.

Did not fail to communicate with server at any point.

This rocks so hard.

Yes, incinerator22 showed me that it still works.

I found something out that was also changed. Costumes can now have up to about 25 stickers, but it's not quite what your thinking...
There can be about 5 stickers on a piece of costume. (5 on head, 5 on legs, 5 on torso...)
Decorations still have a limit of 10 throughout the whole costume like before.

Ok cool, did he create a new object before your eyes or simply placed an already glitched one?

Oh that's an awesome addition, I didn't see any kind of notification about it but I guess MM overlooked when they were describing the features. I thought you meant when the sack boy picks up the switch in play mode... well nevermind what I though:blush:

OK - I am currently working on a survival challenge level, so I was rather excited about the switchable checkpoints. Just tried it and it works perfect! No more zipping away your checkpoints. But here's the thing... out of curiosity, I tried hooking it up to the scoreboard instead... and this also worked beautifully! But I don't know... have scoreboards always been switchable?

EDIT: And no more reverting on the switches (size and alignment) may be the best thing about this update. I too make a lot of logic with twisted mag switches and angled radii.

I need someone to test out a particular glitch to still see if it works, if anyone has a moment.

If it doesn't, I need to unconnect my PS3 and finish building something before getting Leerdammer.

Here's the glitch, if someone could take a moment to test this for me please, I'd be very appreciative:

Take a shape of any material. Glue a cube of darkmatter to it in the same layer. Now, use the corner editor on the darkmatter, select one corner of the cube, and drag it to the opposite corner, "erasing" the cube.

If the glitch still works, this should make the original material shape have "ghost" properties.

Specifically, if someone is willing to test this for me above and beyond the call of duty - what I especially need is for this to work on a glitched FOREGROUND object so that another glitched FOREGROUND object can move *through* it.

If anyone has the time to test this for me, I would be in your debt.

I love this! Just finished playing O.C. only, someone constantly rewinding your creations can be a bit annoying. Did anyone notice the silver sackboy icons? They appear on a level that you haven't finished. That's pretty convenient, for like "Oh yeah, I wanted to finish that level, but I don't remember which one it was" moments.2009-11-30 04:17:00

Nope... all new, portals and the scoreboard are now switchable. You are free to teleport around the level. ...though death is a key element.

Excellent update but there's new sound bugs.

Most of the time my corner editor doesn't make any sound. Also, if I connect a switch towards something on the left, the sound cannot be heard. On the right it's fine (and no it's not me having stereo problems).
Lastly, I also don't hear a sound when I click on the wire of a switch. I need to more and see the wire now in order to know I really did click right...

Overall I'm pretty impressed, the game plays alot smoother than it did before... And so far there is no freezing.

I do have one problem though, I thought MM was going to fix level keys. They still don't work for me and I still have over 20 usless level keys in my popit. I remember that whenever you deleted one of your levels the key would automatically be deleted aswell and when someone sent you a key it wouldn't be permanently stuck in your popit, all these problems didn't start till Cornish Yarg, they are still here. =[

I think I spotted it about 9:00 EST when I started playing LBP.

I am happy it is out.

I still have issues with finding a group to join. I'm still trying to get 100% on the last two story level areas. Its very random whether I get a group or not. I would say about 80% of the time I can't get a group when I start a level and sometimes I wait quite a while before someone joins me. Hopefully in future updates they will add the ability either to designate you are wanting to a)host or b)join a group or c) either. Maybe that will help those wanting to get into groups get into one faster.

My finds:

Extra layers seem to work just like before. Both with materials and objects. I could still emitt objects into back and front layers.

Dual material glitch has partly been fixed:
I could not L3 copy three materials into each other twice to do this, known for TV, hologram and scoreboard effects.
I could use a captured object and change the materials with the Material Changer tool.

Exporting back-ups of levels to a computer now gives us the icon of the level in a PNG file. I put one in my sig.
