The Colbert Report

Archive: 10 posts

I find this news show very entertaining. I loved the episode when they shaved Stephen Colbert's head. So ya, anyone else like this show?

The show is about Stephen Colbert (originalably working at the Daily Show) joking about the current news, like the Iraqi War, economy issues, and the Leggo Waffles shortages. It's broadcasted on Comedy Central, and it's still on air. It has 6 seasons, and has been nominated for Emmy's four times.

So again, who likes the show? I do.

My friends think I'm weird that I prefer Steven Colbert to Jon Stewart. But I find Colbert's quirky humor quite refreshing, and the theatricality of his sarcasm--if that makes any sense--just titillates me.

They should have renamed NASA's Node 3 for the ISS "Colbert." He won fair and square!

Wasn't that the bathroom or something?

Anyways, I love The Colbert Report.

One of 3 shows I watch with anything akin to regularity. The others are The Daily Show and South Park. That's it for me! The TV does NOT go on for anything else aside from videogames and movies.

I've been an avid Colbert viewer literally since day 1, show 1. If you want to get crazy, I've been a Colbert fan since his early days on the Daily Show (I actually watched that show before Jon Stewart took over as host), and certainly on Strangers With Candy. When he finally got his own show, I felt like it was a long-awaited welcome home in a weird way.

So yes, I'm one of "those" guys, bragging about how much of a fan I was before it all got popular.

But I'm NOT one of those guys that claims to NOT be a fan just because it IS so popular. These shows are now better than ever. And what I love about Colbert's show is that he's continuing the ooold tradition that used to be The Daily Show's main theme of finding funny little quirky news stories that "fall through the cracks". They don't do that at all anymore, but colbert's show still keeps up that tradition occasionally, as with the recent "competitive eater" story (that nearly made me vomit at several points).

I'm ridiculously excited at the prospect of Colbert coming to Vancouver to do his show during the Olympics. I hope he does - I'll sign up for tickets SO HARD.

Colber(t) isn't a genius... but he's got a wealth of talent and works so very very hard. I thought the first twenty episodes really showed Stephen in a state of flux. Didn't take too long to find his leading man chops, and when he did... there was no looking back.

I'm a Jon Stewart-fan, but really there is simply no comparison any longer between the two shows. The Daily Show is never bad, but, the Colbert Report can be things the Daily show never dreamed of... and it's all because of Stephen. Yes, its apples and oranges and I love both-- but, Colbert comes off driven while Stewart delivers like a man who has been in the business all his adult life.

I was so so stoked for his Christmas Special last year... I laughed so hard... sometimes with him, sometimes at him, sometimes in-spite of him-- the great thing is he doesn't mind.

I have to disagree. The man is a genius. Did anyone catch the episode where he got Cool Whip to buy advertising time on his show after he slammed them by defending mayonnaise? And then told them how he would use that money to buy more Mayo? The clip should be on his site. I find him to be awesome in every way. But I've found in this (some profanity) page (http://www.badassoftheweek.com/colbert.html), which describes this in more detail.2009-11-30 00:28:00

I really enjoy both The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Last night Colbert did a recreation of an atomic blast that had me rolling! Anyone catch it?2009-12-02 04:23:00

I loved it when he did that Canadian Ball Kicker thing. I laughed hard when he said, "I ask of you to keep your eyes on my balls, and in return, I shall keep my balls on your eyes."

I like his The Word bits. It's funny how he's taking the topic kind-of serious, but the words on the right just make fun of it hilariously! I still remember the Sarah Palin topic, when he said "It's not her fault America" and then the words on the right said "Then Who The **** Named Her Kids?".

God that was hilarious. It went on for like 2 minutes. the cutaways to the lobbyist were hilarious - his eyes moving all over the place following Stephen's atomic mimicry like a cat watching a laser.
