"EUREKA!: A Sack Full of Adventure"

Archive: 11 posts

EUREKA! I had an idea that brought me back to my days of EQ, it was a simple time, my imagination at my prime! It's true what they say... unless worked out, your imagination gets fat and flabby and wont work as it used too... So consider this my LBP workout!

Imagine if you will... you start off on a ship, it's floating along towards an iceshelf when it lands.. you're greeted by walrus-men who tell you of their plight, they say giants have been attacking their camps to steal their herds of Walrus for food, or oil, or both! but whatever it is you need to stop them!

So of course doing such a thing is next to impossible unless I get help! My first act of help is ideas, I need a fresh set of ideas since I plan on making this a multi-level thing... an adventure of sorts... so please, all ideas are welcome!

Of course all the boss battle's I've seen are cheep hacks, I want the kind that is like the gorilla from tinsle town but not exactly like... same concept!

Working title... "EUREKA!: A Sack Full of Adventure"

maybe you could have it arranged so that you have some small bosses in different levels, some not very hard bosses preferably, and then that sorta complicates things so that once you finally get to the last level with the "lead giant", itll wrap everything up, and all of the mysteries that were along the way have been solved(also the lead boss would be really hard to beat), idk, its sorta simple, but if u put your mind to it, who knows.....2009-11-29 02:44:00

Well! The first portion of the level is shaping up nicely, I'm going to shape the level then put in the nuts and bolts after since I think I end up losing track on the little things...

Great news tho! the editor is shaping up nicely, it's actually a really nice tool to create. It's a great outlet for my imagination! This will be quite epic... I hope everyone else is as excited as I am!

Update on progress:

After a few minor setbacks and some reworking of the level.. I may need help with making my boss less... cheesy as the scorpions/robots/aliens from the game to me seemed a bit cheesy unlike the gorilla which was something like a good platformer tho I don't want to copy it so I'm fiddling around with some drawings and sketches to see what the creator can do to make it work...

Good news is a beta should be up by wednesday! (taking all tuesday to work on it) I think he will be logic heavy... which means the brain will be made last and in one shot without saving and without rewinding since that seems to break it for me..

Any input on this matter would be most appreciated!

Due to some restrictions in the creator's bugs I've had to limit the boss battle to something a bit distracting... but worthwhile.. It's comming out pretty nicely but I'm having a problem with the constant changing of dynamic objects to static and vice versa... so it's been slow going. I need to put in a few filler areas before the boss battle.. Adding two pistons stabilized some of the parts enough but it's slow moving still...

With the latest bit of changes to the level a lot of objects have shifted once again and I've had to change it around a bit more... good news is it's simple things that I've beenable to control with a bit of tweaking, if the boat landing portion keeps messing up I'll set up a winch instead since the piston keeps breaking...

Expect a beta version to be up very soon tho!

I took a moment to just relax, I played some AC3 portable, laughed at all the people who spent more on the pspGo for something less (check out my other rant here.. (http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board/message?board.id=59&message.id=50388&jump=true#M50388))

And I also did some sketches, put some things in perspective since it's easy to lose yourself in the bugs. I really would love to make a bit more complex levels but this is satisfactory for now!

There's the Beta up!

there is this world of warcraft level in LBP PS3 that has good bosses. the spider one doesnt use paintinator, and is (logic wise) simple, so if you ever get a chance... Im sorry idk what its called, but the boss is very good. World of Warcraft... something.2009-12-04 03:28:00

Onyxia, huge fan of WoW the lore not so much the game any more, every class I played they nerfed into the dirt.. but enough about crap! this giant will be a bit more logic heavy and hoping it will be epic if I can get the game to stop crashing on me... my psp system actually crashed on me recently... I think there's a problem with the PSP system patch that came out... it's making my sleep mode highly unstable...

Positivity tho! tell me what you all think of the game if anything...
