Republishing levels

Archive: 5 posts

It seems that republishing a level resets the play, rating and heart counts back to zero.

So... creators should try to make the most fixes possible at once before republishing.

Also, it would be swell if the players who raised an issue about a level that was fixed could go back to redownload and replay the level again.

Really??? Totally resets it?

Although, maybe the next time a player that has your level hearted accesses the network it puts it back on again?

I don't know about other players, but after republishing my own level it reset completely to zero. I played it myself and that bumped it up to 1 play. Since I had already played my level before, I assume it ignores previous plays and ratings.2009-11-28 21:22:00

I can check - I downloaded it and played it last night and haven't turned it on today yet I'll report back

EDIT: ok before signing back onto the network it's stil showing one play 5 stars on my PSP. After connecting it still shows 1 play 5 stars on my PSP on the version I downloaded and the new one you published shows 3 plays 4 stars. I redowloaded it and it made a new level file. It did not save over the top of the one I previously downloaded. It also says playcount is zero so that must be an indicator of how many times the person downloading it has played it.

Does that help?

Well, the fact that you could download the new copy while still having the old one does raise my suspicions (since I had noticed that once before) of something. The level seems to generate an internal ID of some kind every time it is republished. You'll notice that if you try to download the exact same level you just downloaded, it will say "Level already downloaded". Yet it seems to treat the level as a different level when it's republished, because you can then have multiple copies and it doesn't offer you to overwrite the previous version.

What's stranger still is that there is obviously a unique level ID on My Moon, because when I republish it automatically detects and replaces the previously published version. Why does this only work one way?

Also, when referring to the reset play/heart/ratings, I always checked the number online by searching for my level/PSN, not the number in Downloaded Levels.
