http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1011&pictureid=9109A long time ago in my early days of LBP I made a Jurassic Park level which was good for a first level kind of scenario but by my standards today, it is completely inadequate.
So today I am inviting you to the Grand Re-Opening of Jurassic Park. The new park features more technology, a brand new electric perimeter fence, a new power grid, new visitor center renovations, and of course new specimens. So I ask you to come and visit my new park. I have spared no expense (except for all of the score bubbles.)
all
Now here are some pics from Jurassic Park. Please tell me if you can't see the pics above.
Note 1: The raptor cage in the level is different than what you see in the pic.
Note 2: These are only a few pictures of the level. In the actual level there is ALOT more to see so if you want to see what the whole deal is play the level itself.

Just finished playing it and the level is simply amazing. The visuals have evolved into eye candy, the gameplay is better and the length of the level is increased. Much better than the old one except there is a section of the level that has no wall and can cause an unexpected fall to an earlier part in the level. It is at the part with all the colored computers, and the dinosaur that comes out from the left. If you kill him, it is possible to keep walking until you reach a space where part of a wall was built (the front layer was finished) but you can just walk straight on through and fall back down to the power grid section. But, the level is AMAZING overall! 2009-11-28 03:46:00

Will 100% for sure play this today !!

Looks amazing!

Only 1 small thingy: I liked the before better of the dinosaur coming out of the wall (with the night settings).

Also I feel you could improve the helicopter platform a bit more with some landing lights or stuff like that.

For more comments, please wait for my playthrough

best regards

Ok just played this till the finish.

I really liked how you portrayed several familiar scenes from jurassic parc into the level. I recognized the tx rex scene (this was easily the best part of the whole level imho) , the visitor center (beautiful t rex bones model by the way) and the raptor in the freezer scene.

However I have some minor complaints:

1. it's too dark when the truck falls down in the trees. I really could not see much and got through this section by luck and jumping like a madman.

2. I feel there could be more scary scenes, the t rex scene was impressive but I feel you could have used the rapors a bit more in a scary way. Now just 1 popped out and the timing was not really good as he already vanished as soon as i moved. Maybe you could use a time sensor somehow to make it dissapear slower (maybe pauze 1 second?).

3. I was missing the triceratops scene where you see this impressive beast. This was a great opportunity to use the triceratops as a way of creating some impressive visual scene but you missed this.

Overall, I was impressed with the work and gave this the 4 star rating.
Creep up the scares a bit more and it can get 5 :-)

Thanks alot for the small review and I have answers to almost all of your minor complaints.
First of all about the scene with the T-rex and the crashing car I too noticed that on some TVs it appears to be pitch black on the car scene because of the lighting from the TV. I will try to make it less dark so it will be visible no matter what and I am working on it right now.
Next I would like to say that I would LOVE to add more scenes in the level but sadly the level is so close to overheating that if I enter the level it decides to overheat! So if somebody could give me some suggestions on how to clear up some space or if there is something that is not necessary in the level please let me know.
Now about the raptor in the bunker. The raptor comes out that way because it is set on a motion sensor so whenever you are in the sensor range the raptor will pop out and stay out. I thought about using a timer but I'm not exactly sure on how that would turn out so once again I am open for suggestions.
Also as of right now I am trying to figure out a new paint scheme for the dinosaurs to try to make them look a little more realistic so be on the lookout for newly colored dinosaurs. However I may or may not change this feature.
Thank you for every user who has commented on this level and I would love to hear more ideas on how to make it a better level. I want this level to be the best it can possibly be an in order to do that I have to make it as user friendly as possible.

Just recently I have republished Jurassic Park with MANY new improvements since the last update. Some things you will find in the new update include:
- A New Intro
- New Dinosaur Look
- New Dinosaurs
- New Special Effects
- and Some New Surprises

So what are you waiting for! Go and visit Jurassic Park today! I hope that you will all enjoy the new improvements I have implemented into the level as it was very hard to do with the thermometer about to explode if I put a single box in. Be sure to leave comments and feedback on this thread or the level itself!

P.S. Ingen is not responsible for any injuries, faulty equipment, and/or death. If you are allergic to dinosaurs please consult your doctor before visiting the park. If you are bitten by a dinosaur stop, drop, and roll. This way we don't have to pay extra money to feed the dinosaurs. Thank you and have a nice day.

I remember watching it in the theatre. I remember the Jurassic Park hype was in the roof at that time with sticker books and other merchandise. I love the movie. The level looks excellent and I'm going to play it later.2009-12-03 20:41:00

Really loved this level. Felt like I was playing through the movie (which was obviously the intention).

I think its really hard to follow through a film in a level AND keep it fun and interesting at the same time - but you've definately succeeded here.

My main complaint is that I kept getting stuck and having to fiddle a bit to get out.
- in the car (fiddle to get in, fiddle to get out)
- with the stairs in the powerstation - you can't see th stairs due to the scenery and i fell through them a couple of times
- with the tree section (although this was ok as it suits the scene)

Your visuals and objects are very good from the desert to the industrial you covered it all well.

....please reduce the amount of speech bubble... The gameplay and visuals are good enough without needing to be interupted all the time by chatter. I know you're trying to inject humour into a somewhat gory topic, but I movie wasnt a comedy.. and neither should this be.

I still loved it though - 5*

Thanks alot for the feedback and I do understand some of your complaints and the others I have answers for. First of all getting in and out of the jeep should not be too difficult but I will tell you how to get in and out of it just in case some people don't understand. To get in the jeep walk onto the ramp that goes behind the jeep in the back dimension. Once behind the jeep move towards the back of the jeep and bring your sackperson to the second dimension and you should be in the jeep. To get out of the jeep is very simple. If you noticed once it falls in the tree the windshield breaks so all you have to do is jump out of the windshield.
One other thing I also wanted to let everybody know is that I am currently working on another update that will bring more of a horror genre to the level and I think you will enjoy it once it is done. This also means that I am getting rid of alot of speech bubbles like TheAdipose requested. So if you want to see a better version of Jurassic Park please be patient and you will be satisfied.
I am always working on new ways to improve and if anybody has an idea please let me know.

OK I just republished the newest update to Jurassic Park which includes the following:

-New Horror Genre
-Less Speech Bubbles
-New Lighting Effects
-Some Modified Details

These are the newest features added to Jurassic Park. Sadly I had to get rid of a little humor in order to give part of the level a more creepy feeling. However I think most of you will enjoy the new horror section. Be sure to check out the update when you get a chance and let me know if there is anything I can add to the level to improve it. I'm always open to suggestions! Thank you and I hope you enjoy the new update.

Thats right folks! Jurassic Park is now in 3D! The park never had the scale of size I meant it to have so I decided to try out the 3D-Layer Glitch and it turned out very nice in my mind. So now with new visuals you can enjoy your visit even more! Note this is a separate level and it did not overwrite the original. It is a test to see which one people like more so please check it out and leave feedback on your opinions.

Note that the pics from my first post are WAY different than what is in the actual level now.

Actually its only been spotlighted once and I didn't plan on getting it spotlighted again. I'm just always making new improvements lol.
The other level that was spotlighted was The Lost World Series which is 3 completely different levels. I just want people to check out the new version and I already know it can't get spotlighted twice lol.:hero:

it was lot's of fun. Nice use of the 3-d layer glitch. Sometimes It was a little too dark to see some edges though. Other than that I had a good time. 2009-12-19 22:13:00

Ya sometimes there is a rare occasion where if you die in the tree and spawn in the car the tree "traps" you and you can't get out of the car. I think I fixed it but if not just don't die lol.
Thanks for the feedback guys!:hero:

Hello my friend !

I tried this one in 3D as well and I must say I still prefer the original 2d one
It looks better in 3d with more depth to it, but I feel it's more confusing to play the level itself (especially in the visitor center , it seems impossible to get to the prize bubble now and had some layer problems in other parts too).

I played lost word part 1-2-3 as well and man they are also very good!
I loved the second one the best though, as the t rex scene with the trailers falling down was amazing , it even topped the t rex scene in jurassic park 1 !!

Just played this and I was pretty pleased

I have a question though, what's the name of the music you use in the last part (leaderboard section)?

I realise this is a song I don't have!

Its the very end of Battle on the Ice.
Btw nightwing what problems did you have with the layers in the 3D version? I just want to know so I can fix it.:hero:
Or is it just confusing cause of the different layers?

well, in the visitor's center there is a prize bubble.

If you walk up the stairs and go to the left you find a bubble with a prize. But now in 3d, I couldn't go 'in depth' anymore so I couldn't enter the hallway to the prize bubble.

I remember in 2d it was possible to get there. Maybe you changed it ?

Also I found it more confusing to jump because it's hard to see the different layers sometimes.

Can't really be very specific about this, hope this helps

I changed the visitors center room to where you have to jump on the T-Rex skeleton in order to get the prize bubble. Hope this helps!

Wow this is a nice piece of eye candy for sure. You did an AMAZING job creating atmosphere here, I actually felt afraid in some parts of the level ! You used the layer glitch to perfection here as well. :star::star::star::star::star:!2009-12-22 14:57:00
