Is it actually worth it...?
Archive: 12 posts
Just wondering if you guys thought it was actually worth getting? Looking around, it seems quite buggy and watered down...I understand if you like to make stuff on-the-go, but still, I played it a little, and I personally think that LBP is best suited to the PS3 more than a handheld. That's just my opinion, perhaps I need to play it a little more... =? | 2009-11-26 22:18:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |
I'm most likely not going to get it.I cannot find my PSP charger anyways XD | 2009-11-26 22:33:00 Author: AbstractFlesh Posts: 837 |
IMO, the story mode is well worth it, but the create mode really depends on how much tolerance you have and whether or not you're used to saving often. I'm making a much less ambitious level right now, and so far it's going pretty well (knock on wood). | 2009-11-26 23:40:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
I agree with Gilgamesh about the story levels and if you've got the patience for the create side of things. The story levels are great and fun. Much more so than most of the regular LBP story levels imo. In terms of community levels it's really too early to tell what kind of level quality we'll have available. For create mode I've only dabbled a tiny bit and it's different from the regular PS3 version for sure. For the $40 even if you don't create, playing the story levels and an occasional gem from a community creator is well worth it in my opinion. | 2009-11-26 23:44:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I agree.... believe it or not, the story mode seems to really outshine the regular LBP story mode - fantastic. But, for me personally I just can't seem to build anything that fits my personality in the create mode at this time. My strength has never been straight platforming, and that is about all I can see is feasible right now. So is it worth it? For me it will be worth it only if create mode gets the bugs fixed (I don't care that much about the WAY create mode works - I can work around that) | 2009-11-27 02:29:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Personally, I think it's worth it. As was said before, the story was awesome. And by now, I've already gotten used to the create mode, barely. Right now I focus more on playing than creating and sharing | 2009-11-27 02:38:00 Author: Frinklebumper Posts: 941 |
Create mode = epic dump. Every time I even use it, my game literally breaks and it will freeze, crash, and then shut itself off when I try to load a level. I'd just wait until everything gets sorted out before buying it, if they ever do get fixed. | 2009-11-27 11:43:00 Author: Sackwise Posts: 305 |
The story mode and mini games are brilliant. It's an outstanding achievement for a portable system and a great LBP experience. I'm especially loving the new soundtrack and overall presentation. As for create mode, I'm certain updates will fix obvious problems - even some sadistic fun can be had working your way around them. I recommend jumping in and learning the new palette and creating tricks. Just as it was with PS3 LBP, here's a new way to share a communitys' confusion, frustration, enlightenment and elation. Gotta love playing those primitive community levels on the bus. We've only just begun! | 2009-11-27 12:03:00 Author: Tanuki75 Posts: 172 |
I'm loving it, haven't had any issues with create yet (and I spent a good 2 hours trying to do things on it) | 2009-11-27 12:16:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
i only seem to have one problem with create mode. Wobble bolts. They are kind of annoying at times on the ps3, but man, on the psp they are down right schizophrenic.... that aside, I WILL MAKE A TRAM ON THE PSP!!!!!1!11!!!one!!!eleven!!!!! /rant jackofcourse seems to have wrapped his mind around how the thing works tho, his level...little platformer (I think) is a really good indication of what can and will be. anyways. well worth the buy. that's my 2 cents. | 2009-11-27 12:42:00 Author: Memodrix Posts: 879 |
[...]if they ever do get fixed. They'd better fix it, if they know what's good for them. On the other hand, my current level is so far going well (though I've noticed a motor bolt starting to shift, but it shouldn't actually affect anything). | 2009-11-27 13:37:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
I'm most likely not going to get it.I cannot find my PSP charger anyways XD Let me help you out there... Hook up the PSP to your PS3 using a USB cable. Turn on Settings -> System Settings -> USB charge. Buy LittleBigPlanet for PSP. I'm getting it for the story mode, and so I can still mess about in create mode when it's my girlfriend's turn at the PS3. | 2009-11-27 16:01:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
