The Countdown switch

Does any one know how the count down switch works (the one like an alarm clock not a counter switch).

...could you explain more what a count down switch is? The more specific you can be, the better we can help you

If you're talking about something like the timed explosive, its just a mag key on a wheel that activates mag switches for sound and the explosive.

I think he means something with an LED display, in which case it's pretty complex. The more digits it has, the more logic it requires.

If you're interested, I have a copyable level that is a 12 hour LED clock/timer. It counts up, but the idea is the same. I could make it count down by moving some wires around. I warn you, though - it probably won't make much sense even though I have the logic laid out as clearly as possible.

And, yes, as BurnVictim said, it can be accomplished with a wheel, as shown in the timed explosives from MM's story mode.
