LBP PSP Starwars

Archive: 17 posts

Some of you might be familiar with my Starwars - The Battle Of Hoth level on the console version of Little Big Planet, for those who are not you can easily search it by typing "Starwars" (all as one word) I'm the stamp with the AT-AT on it Everyone was extremely supportive of my work with Starwars - The Battle Of Hoth when I first came to this community, so I'm happy to share the beginning of a new project with everyone here...

Since Little Big Planet was announced for the PSP, I've wanted to bring Starwars to the small screen, if I set out to accomplish one notable build, it'd be another Starwars level, cause I had fun replicating everything in the console version. Its been awhile since I've checked on the quality of the user created levels on LBP PSP, but last time I checked everyone was still getting the hang of things. So after playing with create mode abit myself, coming across the ocasional hiccups along the way and learning to fix things as I went along, I wanted to share what a seasoned visual creator could do.

I'm happy to show off, the beginning of my new Starwars themed project (currently untitled) for LBP PSP. Today I finished off my free walking AT-AT, in the pics below you will see visual comparisons from LBP PSP to the console version.

Top: LBP PSP (AT-AT) vs. Below: LBP PS3 (AT-AT)

While I have no idea when the project will be completed, I will try and post new pics when I have more pic worth material. Questions and comments are always welcome! thanks for your support!!

I might try adding the thin background legs, my only issue with that is it might interfere with it actually walking. It probably took 2hrs to build and atleast another 2hrs to make it walk on its own properly (no trams!) I'm not gonna lie, the creator mode has some issues, wobble bolt settings changing on their own, slight changes in settings when switching to play mode, but it finally came together.

To the other poster above, I wasn't actually paying much attention to the thermometer, but I'll let you know when I get back to it.

I started back to work on this the other day and the AT-AT only took up the bubble in the bottom of the thermo... one kinda ****** thing I realized though for whatever reason the game won't let me save the AT-AT as one of my custom items... maybe it is too big? so it looks like it won't be an unlockable like the console version

In case you haven't already, check out this thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=19378) for some more info on the subject.2009-12-08 06:25:00

I was putting together the Echo base last night and I noticed the AT-AT came apart as it made its way into my sight. I started adjusting the wobble bolts and thats when I noticed the AT-AT started doing sommersaults, I may have to hoist it up in the air while I work on building the Echo base using static pieces on my raised ground to avoid seeing that cabin, axe and other strange things. On top of that I noticed I've kinda slowed down the game, its gonna take some serious work to make a full level on the PSP version of LBP, anyone know if patches will be released for this game?2009-12-12 18:38:00

They said they're working on patching it before releasing dlc, so yes, patching is their main priority right now2009-12-12 19:57:00

I know this is a pretty dead topic, but I was wondering whether you were still planning on returning to this project at any time? I had begun making a sort of minigame level where you drive an AT-AT but when I searched and found this thread I realised I might be treading on some toes a bit, so I reworked and redesigned what I'd already done with the level into something completely different. The level has now taken on more of an adventure style, which is taking up loads of time and, when it's finished, I long to return to the simpler shooting format of my original idea. Would this be ok? I just love making big walking things now...2010-02-12 12:36:00

Cool. I'll be looking forward to that. Right now I am working on a level that takes place on "mustafar". It should be done by next week.2010-02-15 20:14:00

It's not to big, it's just too much materials for one object

I had a bigger object and saved as an item, but it used less materials to create
