Can someone explain to me exactly how Quick Play works? I had thought the point of Quick Play was to jump into a level being played with other players, since playing with others is more fun than playing by yourself. But often it throws me into levels nobody else is playing. Just today I tried Quick Play five times in a row and five times in a row it dumped me into levels where I was alone.

I'm fairly sure quick play is just that, quick play. It dumps you in the first level it finds, and thats what you play. Quick play can also get you into locked levels. If you want to play with someone you'd be better off adding someone to your friends lists, or hanging around one of the highest played levels.

Any tips for those of us who need to get the trophy for playing with 3 randos? I can never seem to find anyone willing to accept a random player. I'd imagine it's pretty daunting for someone who is just now getting into LBP, since everyone already has their friend groups and whatnot. I just want to finish a level with 3 people not on my friends' list! I don't care if the level is called, "H4H Rulz - BOMB DROP!!! Srvive teh falng 1 Milian Prze Bubbs!" as long as we all make it to the end!

I think your best bet is like Burnvictim mentioned, hang around some of the top played levels. I think the handiest is like the story levels or MGS levels as I always seem to find them being played the most. You might put your L2 (I guess that's what that is called!) option to players in a level rather than hearts, stars or level name.

To have a bit of fun, do an online play on a "bomb drop" level. They are SO ANNOYING, but a blast to play with compete strangers.

Okay, thanks, but that raises another question. What is "the first level it finds"? Does that mean that some levels are more likely than others to be selected? There are times when it does seem to have a high likelihood of dumping me into levels currently being played by other players, and other times when it doesn't. So I'm curious how it all works.

i don't completley understand it myself either i once found myself appearing in the same level about 3 times in a row by going on quick play. i doubt that's coincidence since there are what like 1 million and somthing levels now? And it wasn't with anyone else either.

Hello! I think quickplay is an incredible feature.. when i use it, it seems to drop me off i a really good level that has prevouisly been rated 5 stars. Quickplay even allows people to play locked levels! It is a guess on that but i think thats explains why sometimes you will see people on yout locked levels playing them. I have never been sent to a garbage level using quickplay. Although i have joined many people passed out just sitting in a level. lol.

Well in that case you've been incredibly lucky, because when i use quickplay i typically end up in a NEGATIVE five star level. It does let you end up in locked levels, but i'm not sure thats a plus, because i know i typically lock levels because i don't want people getting into them and playing them ahead of time. hahaha, thats so funny man... negative 5. Well i once ended up in that Pencils level on page 5 highest rated. So i figured it put you into really good 5 star stuff. So i am glad to here this. We will figure out quickplay. lol.

Hey, I think when levels get onto cool pages or you just keep republishing a level it captures people and gets them onto that level.
