LittleBigReviews - Introduction
Archive: 3 posts
Hello there LittleBigFriends! I always wanted to do reviews of the LBP community levels, so I have found this interesting website, and now I'm going to get my chance! Hopefully you will like my reviews. But you get to play your part too! Actually your very important, because I need YOU to tell me what I should improve in my reviews and what you did not like in my review. The other thing is that I don't choose the levels I review, but YOU do. After you write what you like and dislike about the review, please write up to three different levels you would want me to review in the next TWO weeks, NOT ONE week. The three most popular levels will be in the next week reviews poll, and the one with the most votes gets reviewed the next week. WOW, you get a full control over me ! So in other words, I will have two pick my first two reviews, but after the first two reviews, its all up to you! Of course there are couple of requirements for the levels you want me to review: The level can't be a level that I have already reviewed, of course I will keep a list of the levels that I have reviewed, your not gonna have to worry about that (You will be able to check the list on my blog, after I will learn how to use it...). The level has to have at least 2,500 hearts, it was 10,000 hearts but people told me that its too much, so I have done research and I agree, thats far too much, so its gonna be decreased to 2,500 hearts. The level you going to choose, CAN'T be a survival challenge... or any challenge at all. Have a maximum of three level choices. If that system wont work out then I will just pick the levels myself. By the way, you don't have to do all that, its just optional. Yep, thats all. Alright now I will tell you how I'm going to review the levels. I will rate the levels from five separate aspects: Art, Sound, Technology, Fun Factor and Details. Every aspect will be rated out of 10. So if a just give an example of a level that doesn't exist, Art - 7.5/10, Sound 8/10, Technology 7/10, Fun Factor 9.5/10 and Details - 6/10. And I would work out the overall score of the level (The example levels overall score is 7.6 out of 10). It might sound confusing but when you will see my first review you going to know what I meant, meanwhile if you don't understand something and you just want to know the answer then just ask me the question, on this thread. Ohh yeah! I forgot to explain what do five aspects mean, there are the description of each one: Art - Thats basically the design and the beauty of the level I am reviewing. In other words it will tell you if the materials, decorations, stickers and so on, fit in with the theme of the level, and if the level is well desinged. Sound - Shows how well the music and the interactive sounds work with the entire level, do they fit the level or now, and is there many of them. Technology - The overall logic used in the level, is the level complex, and how well is the logic used in the level. Fun Factor - Most important aspect of all (In my opinion), shows you how much fun you get when your playing the level. I'd prefere to play a level thats fun and poorly desinged, then play a level thats beautifully desinged and boring, at the end of the day, LBP is about having fun! Details - Thats quite an important aspect too, because you don't want to see splewing mistakes or logic switches when your playing a level, but wait... when your seeing logic switches in a level you learn stuff don't you? Yes, but you can always make the logic switches fit in with the theme very nicely, just like they did it in the story mode. Ohh yeah, the icon, description and the title of the level count in as details too. Every each one of these will have there own score out of 10. Then, as I have said earlier, I will work out the overall score. Of course... the overall score! Here is a little table for you: 1 to 1.9 out of 10 - Means its a FAIL level (Only H4H levels can probably get a FAIL score). 2 to 2.9 out of 10 - Means its a TERRIBLE level. 3 to 3.9 out of 10 - Means its a LAME level. 4 to 4.9 out of 10 - Means its a BAD level. 5 to 5.9 out of 10 - Means its an AVERAGE level. 6 to 6.9 out of 10 - Means its a GOOD level. 7 to 7.9 out of 10 - Means its an AMAZING level. 8 to 8.9 out of 10 - Means its an INCREDIBLE level. 9 to 9.9 out of 10 - Means its an OUTSTANDING level. 10 out of 10 - Means its a PERFECT level. If the score is below 5 out of 10, that means that the level is not worth playing, and these levels are probably the H4H levels, because no level in LBP is below average (Apart from the H4H levels)! If the level has a score from 5 to 7.9 out of 10, its worth playing. If the level has a score from 8 to 10, its not just worth playing, but even worth hearting. Forgot to mention, that every month's first Saturday level review, will include a short interview with the level creator! You will be able to spot the difference between a normal review and a review with an interview just by looking on the title of the review, eg. Normal review: LittleBigReviews - Baga Laga, Review with an interview: LittleBigReviews - Baga Laga (CI). CI stands for Creator Interview, and yep Baga Laga is the example level name, couldn't think of anything better. Yes my first review will include an interview! Read on to see who it is, but before you do... ...I would like to sort out one more thing. Now, you might ask your selfs: "Yeah cool, but how often you going to release new reviews?". The answer is: Every week at Saturday, on around 5:00pm (GMT +0). GMT is the Londonish time zone if you don't know what it means for some reason. One more thing, please write comments on the mistakes I make, or the things you dislike about my reviews. Thats all for now, see you next Saturday (5th of December 2009) for my first review of the level called "The Miracle of Life" by poms. Ohh yeah the review will include an exclusive interview with poms too! Exiting! The interview wont be massive but it will be a reasonable one, and yes, you can expect my review to be detailed. Wait, 10k hearts? That, uh... yeah, that's definitively way too much to be needed <_<. I'm not too sure how many levels have that many, let alone ones that need reviewing... O_o Still, nice for someone else to have nice, intelligent reviews... if you make it so that people who actually NEED reviews can get it as opposed to levels everyone knows about/ have enough plays already, then we're good :kz: | 2009-11-24 21:55:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Very few good levels have that much hearts, that requires over 50,000 plays, a rarity for most levels. You see how thats unreasonable? I think you should ABOLISH that category or you will never review a single level. If you do abolish that, Could you please review: Flow by bonner123 Pale by bonner123 and Dreamscape by bonner123 Thanks in advance! | 2009-11-24 22:28:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |
