US PSN version coming this Tuesday!

Archive: 35 posts

Rejoice! Your kingeth has bringeth some good news...eth!

Okay so I'm sure some of you saw Sam's recent post on LBW (http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/lbp/board/message?board.id=pod&thread.id=108137&view=by_date_ascending&page=1)

I can't give any assurances that the game will be out on Tuesday, but it is the next store update so there's a reasonable chance. Unfortunately I've nothing more concrete that that right now, but I'm aiming to get a final date by Monday so we can stop all this guess work.

So it was still unsure of a Tuesday release.

Well I spotted this little response on Sunday's "Playstation: What we read" blog post (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/11/playstation-around-the-web-what-we-read-76/) (comment #19)

Can't wait for more people to get in on this game. LBPC has to dominate the PSP community levels as well! 2009-11-23 17:51:00

But that would mean that we wouldn't be able to make as many PS3 levels!

/conundrum

In all seriousness, I want to get the game, but will probably wait a few weeks. For one, I have a b-day coming up, and two, there are still some bugs being ironed out. Is it really that much of a refreshing LBP experience, or is it just convenient to have it portable?

To answer.... it is certainly NOT a more refreshing LBP experience, but it IS convenient to have it portable. Personally, I have had a neat simply 1-player idea in my head for a bit, and it is more appropriate for the PSP.

LBPC FTW!

/conundrumI am always able to spend more time on my PSP than my PS3, so for me this will definitely mean more levels overall.

The time I spend on the PSP is generally time that would have been lost otherwise. I also like the fact that I can put the PSP in sleep mode and then instantly pick up exactly where I left off on my creation the next time.2009-11-23 19:20:00

I'll be buying it for a few reasons.
1. I travel at least twice a week, so being able to play LBP while away from home is a cool thing to have in mind when i'm traveling.
2. I just like the idea of having LBP on a portable gaming console.
3. I have some decent games for my PSP, but LBP PSP could become the best game i ever bought for my PSP.

Buy it for sure....I'm publishing a level soon...need some plays. J/K

It's fun. It's worth $40 and it's portable. Plus, if you make a level, people can download and keep them and play it over and over again. Tons of fun.

Like the new PSP "happiest" sackboy face evil?

I just downloaded it, but my save from the UMD version did not transfer over. I had already beaten the game too. Oh, well. It is not like playing the story mode again is a bad thing.

The good news is that the load times are a lot faster. The longest I have had to wait for a level to load on the downloaded version is 8 seconds. That is a lot better then the 35 seconds it takes to load on the UMD version.

The pre-order costumes are great. One thing that the pictures did not show you is that Nathan Drake comes with a little car, and both of the Motorstorm costumes comes with a snow vehicle costume.

The new LBP PSP "happiest" sackboy face, doesn't look good, it looks creepy.
The LBP PSP story mode seems better than the original PS3 story mode so far, i'm just beginning the level Eggstraction, in The Orient.

I am slightly dissapointed that there are only two boss fights in the entire story mode though.2009-11-25 11:17:00

eh. got to play it a bit on lunch. I have to say, i like the fact that in create mode you can specify static or dynamic pieces. dunno if it will ever truly replace dark matter, but meh.

now off to build my tram!! and those switches and logic gates!

on an unrelated note, I think your psn is awesome, if only for the imagery it brings to mind....

I just downloaded it, but my save from the UMD version did not transfer over. The save will transfer. You need to copy the LBP save data folder to your PC before you launch the downloaded game. Once you launch the game it will recreate your save folder, completely wiping out the old contents in the process.

After you have played the downloaded game once (run through the first level and exit the game once you get to the level select screen), copy your old save folder on top of the new one and you're good to go. All progress, items, My Moon levels, and even community levels will be there just as you left them.

This is the one time I forgot to back up my save.

It is okay though. I have already beaten the game again and even collected all the prizes and aced a good portion of the levels.
