LBP-PS3 bundle?

Archive: 10 posts

Anyone else think that a PS3 LBP bundle would be an awesome idea? I mean, if the Wii has taught us anything, its that cute sells. And not only does LBP have cute, but it has got to be the most empowering console experience ever made, and one of the most creative.

PC users have been able to create mods for some time now, but LBP is a different beast altogether. The sheer amount of customization possible and ease and availability with which one can adjust everything and anything makes you feel almost overwhelmed (in a GREAT way!) when looking at it. Add to the fact that this game actually has colour , unlike so many of the bland offering out today (in our FPS/action oriented world....we seem to LOVE grey....ugh).

Does anyone know of talk, rumour or plan for a PS3 LBP bundle?

Everyone talks about Killzone 2, and Resistance 2 etc which will help propel the PS3 ahead (and I am admittedly waiting eagerly for both), but this game from a bunch of guys and galls who look like they'd be awesome people to hang out with will be the killer app, and I hope Sony uses it.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Hopefully N.A will see this too.

Imagine the little tyke trying to convince the parental units to plunk down serious $$ for a system with Solid Snake holding a gun on the box, vs this little bag 'o creating and expression on there.

A ****ed fine way to reach many demographics. But its good to see Sony has identified the potential for this game. Not many non launch bundles has games without the abbreviation 2, 3 or something like that after the game title(ie MSG4).

Speaks about the game when a new unreleased IP gets a bundle.

I guess you're right. I hadn't realised how impressive it is to see a bundle come out for this game. And I can totally see a parent looking at this and perhaps realising there are potentially great games for kids on the PS3, LBP's not the only one, but certainly among the best for a kid: think of the creative juices it'll stir in a little boy or girl!2008-09-24 21:12:00

I think you're dead on as far as teaching creativity goes. Too many young people these days are spoon-fed when it comes to certain things; they learn how to do something and they rarely attempt to improve on what they were taught in the first place.

The potential that is LBP is endless. So young people may benefit said potential, all that really needs to happen is for a parent to sit down with the game and see how deep the rabbit hole really goes. At that point, the kids are going to fall right in line creatively and start building levels. And - at some point - they'll begin to realize that some things work better than others and so on.

Offtopic.

I would replace my PSP with a PSP-LittleBigPlanet package. I heard they are making a PSP version right?

I really wish USA got a bundle because I'm getting a PS3 for Christmas purely for LBP. Yes, I'm going to buy other PS3 games, but LBP is the deciding factor.

Here in Japan there will be a bundle released on the 30th to coincide with LBP's Japanese release. It will consist of an 80gig PS3, LBP and 2 dual shock controllers.2008-10-21 03:13:00
