Hyper Sphere PandemoniumMrsSpookyBuz The Sphere has come full curcle. Run, jump, grab, and get flipped, bounced and pummelled around a multitude of obstacles. But whatever you do, do it quickly - the clock is against you! And for the final time, have lots of FUN! all Special thanks to coyote_blue, HOSS3, MAXPLAY375, Tanuki75 and wexfordian. Yes, this is the very last 'Hyper' level (hurrah, I hear you cry!). The levels have been an absolute blast to build, and over the last nine or ten months they've become something approaching an obsession for me. But there's never a forever thing, and it's time to move on. Many thanks for all the support and encouragement you've given me over the months - it's been inspiring and very humbling. Thank you. Some screenies... http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww227/MrsSpookyBuz/APhoto_8.jpg "Bye-bye Hyper!" http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww227/MrsSpookyBuz/APhoto_2-1.jpg "Hmm, glitchy!" http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww227/MrsSpookyBuz/APhoto_4.jpg "Bang, bang, bang..." http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww227/MrsSpookyBuz/APhoto_7.jpg "Organic complications." http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww227/MrsSpookyBuz/APhoto_6.jpg "Thank Q!" | 2009-11-22 19:31:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |

Wow! That was super quick!! On my list for today and I LOVE the colour scheme. So hot right now! | 2009-11-22 19:54:00 Author: BabyDoll1970 Posts: 1567 |
Awesome! Cannot wait (and yet, I must). I do hope though, that you only intend an ending of the Hyper levels as you say in your post, and not a full retirement from LBP! As my dear old friend Roger Rabbit would say... Ppppppleeeeze! | 2009-11-22 19:59:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
Ahhh.. you published it! Sorry I didn't get back to earlier, I was a little "delicate" this morning Mrs SB, I have to say, you have a knack for straight up fun gameplay. I love the hyper series and each new release brings something fresh to us. Visually, I love the style of it. Fresh and very unique. Gameplaywise I love it. You really know how to nail it when it comes to making a player feel excited going through a level. I like the fact this is a level that its easy enough to get through, but once you finsh you really want to go back and play it again to beat your time. Its very replayable. The only section that I thought slowed down the action for me (and maybe its just because Im rubbish ) was the section where you bounced up and there were 3 rings that you needed to grab, and then another 3 circles inside. I just thought that you spent too much time in the same place as compared to the rest of the level where your flying through as fast as you can. Overall, I love your hyper series, and this new level is another great addition to the series. A fantastic level from a fantastic creator | 2009-11-22 20:01:00 Author: wexfordian Posts: 1904 |
Ah crap! I just went offline, I'll check it out later. Judging by the pictures, the level looks visually stunning. | 2009-11-22 20:09:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger Posts: 787 |

Yes, I agree it can be a bit tricky - there's a way of doing it a bit quicker () but I'll not spoil it. Thanks a lot, matey | 2009-11-22 20:13:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
Fantastic and exciting play - looks gorgeous as well. Took me a while to do the three rings grabby thing, but that probably says more about my inept playing style than anything else. (Oh and you had me totally sold as soon as I saw the Gallifreyan writing ) Dizzy now .... | 2009-11-22 20:21:00 Author: Ozmosis23 Posts: 24 |
Played it, of course And guess what? I LOVE this level Everything about it a hellawin, you've really outdone yourself here | 2009-11-22 20:27:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Holy g'moley, there's something which I have never seen you use before - the layer glitch! *Angelic Choirs, magical dust falling from gloriously blue skies* But anyway. Love it! Interesting visual style here, never actually seen you use rubber (gigity gigity, gigity goo) as a primary material, but it goes nice with the yellows and gold. You've really ramped up the challenge here. Really this is some solid stuff! The part with the rotating, um...7/8th circles (??) and the golden balls inside of them we're really tough, but it doesn't ruin the fun. Not in any way, and trust me, this was a lot of fun I wish to aim for number one, so watch out! Perhaps you could set up a competition...? :star::star::star::star::star: and a diamond encrusted yet still-beating heart | 2009-11-22 20:28:00 Author: KoRnDawwg Posts: 1424 |
This is the end?! Well, you sure went out with a bang. I didn't know how powerful the layer glitch could be in bold colors and basic shapes. Gameplay, as ever, is top notch - balances fun and challenge well. If you're not gonna use it anymore, I'll buy the Platforming Savvy bit of your brain. 5*/Heart/Universal Acclaim. A separate heart for the race gate bit. | 2009-11-22 21:23:00 Author: coyote_blue Posts: 422 |
Whoa! That looks brilliant, really stylish. I shall be sure to play it tomorrow. | 2009-11-22 21:57:00 Author: persona3fan93 Posts: 155 |
I just got done playing it and I quite enjoyed it. The level reminded me alittle of EvilPanda's levels. I liked the way you used the layer glitch, it was nothing fancy but I liked the simple effect. Overall good job! 4* and a Heart. | 2009-11-22 22:03:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger Posts: 787 |
Now that was a CIRCULAR experience! I liked this level, I really did. It managed to keep the fast pace that the two previous hyper spheres had, but with a very nice addition: the colour palette. Black & yellow looked perfect in here, it made you feel like... like if you were playing trough a bee's internal organs. Kind of. Mooore or lesss... Yup. The very first segment of the level, the fake race was funny to say the least. I was like "c'mon, focus, you gotta get a high score" at the very first -fake- race, and when I saw how quickly the scheduled time for the race was running off, my hopes of actually getting a high score dissapeared completely. Thanks god it was a joke. About most of the sections, I thought that they were pretty inventive, but what it's more important: fast. There was not a single obstacle that felt slow. Overall, it was lots of fun, and I gave it 5 stars plus a "Rapido!" tag, but I'm going to point out some things: -The zone in wich you were pushed up an you had to grab black spheres in order to enter yellow circles, and then grab the spheres that were inside those circles to make the whole thing vanish in the air. This zone made me slown down, because I kept missing the black sponges that serve as an entrance to the circles. Basically, the circles spinned to much for me, and I had a hard time grabbing the black spheres. If you could tune it down a slight bit somehow, I that the difficulty would be more adequate. But that could be just my lack of skill. -In the part where you shot the spheres, it is slightly unclear in wich layer they are on. If those speheres would just be of different colors (uhm... black and yellow, maybe?) I think that that confusion would be gone. And that's what I consider the "useful feedback". On a more personal note, I'd like to scream at you for taking the layer glitch to the extreme. It is hard for me to bear with the extra layers at the back, but when you go and add those cylinders at on the front layers, nearly touching my face, it feels to me really... confusing. Such a use of the layer glitch makes me lose sight of the 3 actual layers. But, as I said, this last paragraph is completely based on a personal taste/opinion. EDIT: Now what's the next thing? Hyper Dodecaedre? I'd pay to see that. About the F4F, I'll mercilessly ask for it when the time comes. | 2009-11-22 22:24:00 Author: Keldur Posts: 628 |
Top Notch fun!! Wow... that was wonderfully cool!!! I need to play it a few more times just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating! ...well, with all the jumping dancing stuff in the background, it's hard to tell if I was or not! This one is just as addictive as the 2nd in the series of being spherically hyper! Loved the shapes and movements of everything! ..nicely done point bubbles too! I really liked the huge ones in the jumping down sections. They almost feel alien in a way. ....ahhh, but they pop just the same! lol!! Fast moving sections coupled with some hyper jumping get into the sphere frenzy.. wacky and fun!! Loved it... simply stunning. Congrats!! ..the fake race gate was hysterical. For you a six pack of :star:'s (although it only lets you give it 5) and a well earned heart! | 2009-11-22 23:48:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
I added a video of the level (sorry, I apologize in advance for being a below average player) for those who were unfortunate enough to have missed this today and are chomping at the bit to play this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5YqDpDscrg **************************** Yes, MrsSpookyBuz, you do hear me cry but "hurrah" is definitely not what's coming out. Anyways, I absolutely loved this level. I'd hate to repeat what was said before (but I will do anyway). Series Factor (perfect balance between consistency and uniqueness) - The game play is unmistakably MSB style with heart pounding running, jumping, grabbing, shooting and split second judgment calls all meshed in an oh so perfect way. As is the case with all of your series, you have a consistent theme with recognizable visuals, platforming and game elements, but you always seem to be able to add new twists and turns that make each and every level so unique, tremendously fun and beautiful on its own. This new Hyper Sphere Pandemonium is no exception. Visuals Factor - Your 3D background work was just perfect and really added to the whole feel of the level, which was very futuristic and abstract and mesmerizing yet not distracting. The color scheme was different from the previous Hyper Sphere installments but the black and yellow contrast and the way you implemented the scheme through the level was simply beautiful. Game Play Factor - My heart started racing as soon as that music started and the excitement didn't really end (well it did briefly due to the false start, which was just brill) until I saw the Thanks for Playing sign, which made me sigh as it was the signal that the party was over, and over way too soon. The flow of the game was flawless and the 3 rings part really built up my anxiety and I was cursing myself (and you) until I finally got through. :hero: Overall Experience and Replay Factor - Like all of your other levels, I found myself completely immersed into the game, laughing, shouting and jumping at the appropriate (and inappropriate) moments. This is a level I can play over and over again, it is so addictive and fun. Without a doubt 5 gazillion stars and every heart I can spend. Thank you for this, and now that you have declared the "Hyper" series concluded, we fans demand that you get yourself obsessed with another project . What the..... I didn't even know this was coming! I'm all over it tonight! EDIT: OK, played it. The verdict? This level ROCKS! The visuals and effects are amazing, fantastic gameplay, and really cool use of the 3D glitch... stunning! I didn't find a single flaw. 1420.3 stars, and 315.97 hearts. Awesome. | 2009-11-23 01:25:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
I played this level! it was very nice and simple. The glass and moving background was crazy. I don't have much to say...I gave it 4 stars in LBP, and I would really give it 4 1/2. | 2009-11-23 04:13:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
And allow me to be the one to bump you into the COOL PAGES! Even though it was a given. Everyone's said it already, so I'll just say beautiful to look at, fun to play (although that jumping platform (s) with 2 player + lag was interesting!), great atmosphere and so clever. I smiled all the way through. Glad to see a pic of that organic section in its entirety. Gorgeous. 5 stars, hearted and tagged... crap, can't remember! No, not crap. I think Beautiful... I think. It was something very nice anyway. Edit - P.S. Seeing as others have mentioned it with mixed opinions, I thought I'd say that the bouncy platform where you had to dissolve the circles was terrific. I liked the added complexity. | 2009-11-23 05:19:00 Author: BabyDoll1970 Posts: 1567 |

Shenoa have you been trying to memorise the dictionary again.... wouldn't happen to be on the "f" section by any chance? I was actually trying to get as many "f" description words in my post as possible. Just off the top of my head actually... and 8 was my limit, lol. | 2009-11-23 12:37:00 Author: SHENOA77 Posts: 184 |
I've been on a tour lately of the master's of lbp level creating. And you my dear are definitely a master (or would that be mistress?.. any way you get what I'm saying.) Definitly a level that forces you to think and play outside the box! This level showcases why your so respected in the lbp community! I played this last night with another gadder. All I can say is wow. So original, with great use of materials and color. You have left some hard to fill footprints to follow... but you've inspired me to try anyway. Thanks for all the effort and time you've put into this for our entertainment! For those who think its too hard or frustrating... I encourage you to press through it... thats what makes it so satisfying when you finally complete it. | 2009-11-23 13:03:00 Author: enodrawkcab Posts: 238 |
Frankly, I feel it would be a falsity to call this fantastic folly anything other than fabulous. I forsee this level fighting through the fog of fail and flying free to the top of cool pages. This fantastically fabricated level is far from faddish, in fact, i think its fair to say, its a fairground of fun, fiendishly fairytale like, and fearlessly faultless in evry flippin facet of its fibres. I'll stop now for fear of fostering flippancy.... | 2009-11-23 13:09:00 Author: wexfordian Posts: 1904 |

Thank you so much for all the comments so far - I appreciate every one of them. @ScoutsBoo You have given me so much support over the past few weeks, I can't begin to thank you enough. It's your encouragement that got me through the usual trepidation, and I won't forget it - you're an absolute star. @coyote_blue Thank you. You're more than welcome to have a poke around the 'platform side' of my brain. It's a bit messy in there, but please take what you see fit (although it's currently undergoing maintenance!). @CCubbage Thank you, as well. You've been one of the staunchest supporters throughout the Hyper levels, and it means a lot to me. Seeing as others have mentioned it with mixed opinions, I thought I'd say that the bouncy platform where you had to dissolve the circles was terrific. I liked the added complexity. @BabyDoll1970 Thank you, and thank you for saying the above. I always have a constant fight on my hands with 'balance', and the obstacle you mention was there to slow the player down (and, yes, possibly frustrate and panic them, too!). That was the whole point! If I hadn't included it, I would've got messages about how easy it was. I make take a look to see if I can tweak things, but if leaving it as is causes a little slump in the level rating, I can live with that! @wexfordian You, sir, are as daft as a brush! But I like you anyway! Thanks again to all, I'm truly overwhelmed. | 2009-11-23 13:29:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |

I'm neither worthy or qualified as a 'master' of LBP, but I've said before that if one person has fun or is inspired to create, then I humbly consider it a massive compliment. I sincerely hope you WILL create, as long as you realise that through all the highs and lows, the frustrations and breakthroughs of creating, is the fact that the fear and joy when you press 'Publish' is something you won't find in any other video game! I wish you well, and if you need any help, never be afraid to ask. And thank you once more. | 2009-11-23 17:09:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |

Awesome. I see you found a use for that black rubbery material (can't remember what its called now), which for me has only ever been used for wheels! And it looks great, the circles bouncing around in the background with all the bright colours and everything - fantastic. I can see how much work went into this and it payed off because it earned you :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart! I liked the shooting thing at the end as well because often people make it so you have to shoot the targets almost a million times. This was just the right amount! Some fresh ideas in there that I havn't seen in a level before! Great work! Also, if you're doing f4f maybe give my level a play? https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=18967 | 2009-11-24 19:59:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |

Sorry I'm a bit late to this party as I only got to play the level today but I can't resist throwing in a comment or two anyway. What can I say - it was just a whole heap of fun (lol at the fake race!). Fantastic gameplay which all flowed really well and was not too challenging for the likes of me! I thought the visuals were just stunning and added a whole layer of extra sophistication. I loved the score bubbles and as for the colour scheme well, obviously, yellow is the new black! I don't think you broke the level, but I don't really understand how you missed the checkpoint that's inside the 'shooty' structure. Once inside, the player triggers an emitted wall so they can't escape out to the left - but if they die they'll spawn inside the structure. You must have jumped or missed it somehow. Thanks for playing, though. | 2009-11-27 20:13:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |

Hey MrsSpookyBuz! I just went through the level for the first time today, and I'm happy to say it lives up to the standards set by the two Hyper series. Granted, I haven't played the last few releases due to a few months of break from LBP, but I'm happy to see it's still going. One difference I noticed when comparing this installment to the previous ones I tried is how the level focuses less on platforming and more on taking the player on a journey for the senses - the level is an amazing piece of eye-candy from start to finish, and while I love levels with lots of platforming sections, I guess this is a fair trade-off, since I really like this style of presentation. The high point for me was the second big bounce-pad part where you had to open each big cylinder and activate the smaller cylinder inside to progress - that was masterfully done! The only part that felt a tiny bit frustrating was at the four circles - the ones with the electrified top semi-circle - that kept opening and closing. It was cruelly hard to make the jump to the cylinder on the far end. If I tried jumping from the bottom of the fourth lower semi-circle, I couldn't jump high enough to reach it, and if I tried using the edge of that semi-circle, there was very little time to make a second jump, which resulted in either slipping off due to hurrying too much or getting electrified by the top semi-circle. But it was just a minor annoyance, I got through that section after three retries eventually. All in all, I could find very little to not like about the level, it was wonderful both visually and as a fast-paced platforming challenge as well. I rated the level: :star::star::star::star::star:, along with a Heart. I hope you'll try your hand at some futuristic story-based level too in the future, I'm sure you'd come up with something spectacular! | 2009-12-05 15:33:00 Author: sny Posts: 144 |
Hiya Great credits and visual style at beginning. Just when you think you've seen every combination of colours, someone comes up with another combo that looks good AND original. Not a big fan of the 'joke'. IMHO humour rarely works on LBP, but I DID like the GET READY. Built up tension well for the next race. The circles all over the place look really good. Its a clear visual progression from the first hyper level that had simple circles inside each other. The use of the 3D glitch with the big black tubes looks great. The use of invisible DM to force me to drop down after the electric strip section is a bit forced. I'd rather have an arrow telling me to go down rather than hit invisible wall on my jump. The huge point bubbles in the tubes look like massiv telescopes. Really nice. The section with the second flipper where you have to dissolve the rings... it took me AGES to figure out what to do. I actually thought something had gone wrong with the level. I kept grabbing the yellow rings but by chance didnt hit a black bit for a while. Once I did, it was clear, but I wonder if there could be anyway to show that those rings arent just obstacles but actually part of the puzzle. The section with the split electric circles. The first and last circles seem to be inline with the background, and the rest aren't, looks kinda weird. Love the modified enhancement removers... and the downhill run at the end was really fun. I'm less of a fan of the 'sit in a ball' sections as you basically just watch them, but as it was brief and fit very well with the circles theme I think it's ok. Overall really fun level with some of the best artistic use of the 3D glitch I've seen. Good choice to keep the multicolour tube until the end. gave me an extra 'oooooh' Please could you review my level Peculiar pine of puzzlewood (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=19592) Thanks! | 2009-12-06 22:58:00 Author: TheAdipose Posts: 533 |
