Sticker Glitch?

Archive: 14 posts

I just played a level called "High Tech World 1". It was like a Sci-Fi World rip-off, but the thing that surprised me is that they have stickers in that have clean cut-outs like the Mm's stickers! I don't know how they did it!

They have see-through edges on that sticker! I lifted it, and it was from the camera tool, I don't understand? Is this another crazy glitch? :kz:

(The camera shot is at a weird angle because I went past a point of no return, so I had to take the pic from a difficult spot.)

Hey, yeah! I've seen that too! I recently paid a visit to...Lol, I forgot the username. Anyway, this user has a paint shop with all sorts of different color stickers including 2 perfect cutouts (With transparent background) of this very same Sackboy as well as his own personal Sackboy. I have no clue how he did it!2009-11-21 18:07:00

It's a carzy glitch that you can't replicate. It happens completely by accident.2009-11-21 18:08:00

Maybe it's something Mm is implementing, and they accidentally put part of a working piece of it in the game?

Well, if it's from the PSEye, then the author probably used one of the shapes that you can take the picture in. i.e. the famous "This Level Rocks!" sticker was made using a different PSeye cutout frame.2009-11-21 18:20:00

It's not from the PS eye, I lifted the sticker, and it had the rectangular photo shape.

Wow, saw it in level, I knoww how to make completely transparent stickers without PSeye but have no idea if it will work with objects (the stickers look like a picture of a cutout)2009-11-21 18:34:00

It's probably just the checkerboard-background sticker being used with the right lighting ETCCCCC2009-11-21 18:36:00

If anyone cares, that stuff i said about transparent stickers doesn't work, it seems that when you take the photo, everything in the box turns invisible as well, this is a mystery2009-11-21 19:23:00

Hey guys, sorry about the duplicate thread, I didn't realize this was already up.

Anyway, ARD, you said you think the checkerboard background was used? There's no way to import the background from an exported sticker. Do you think someone just recreated it the best they could? Using front view can also help a lot as as far a solid colors go. It's surely possible to re-trigger transparency in the game with that background.

Whoa, you mean anything that was black in the picture became transparent?? Can you get more info on what type of sticker it was and the lighting that was used?

And springs86, I had already figured that out. The method I used for making transparent stickers was to create many many objects on-screen to where the game severely lagged, then snap a picture. The whole image turned out transparent. It's not a particularly rare occurence since it can be achieved using my method.
