How are the community levels so far?

Archive: 17 posts

So the games been out for...well not long. I haven't got it yet so I'm just wondering are there any community levels you've played yet that stand out?2009-11-21 17:08:00

I've only tried jackofcourse's level (since he's been hogging the level showcase all by himself, what nerve! ).

I'm not that interested in checking out community levels yet since a) I haven't finished the story mode and b) It hasn't even been out a week yet so creators must still be getting used to the new create mode.

The good thing is that the community moon automatically starts on the "new" levels instead of the highest rated. With any luck we won't get a PSP version of the "Ramp" phenomena.

I've been experimenting in the meantime to learn the ins and outs of the create mode. Good thing too because creating does not work exactly the same way as on the PS3 and has some obscure bugs.

I've been using my time waiting for the game to come up withsome level ideas that are simple, easy to do on the PSP yet can be fun and interesting. I'm hoping it'll only take about a week to make once I'm down with the PSP create. 2009-11-21 17:37:00

So far, apart from jackofcourse's level they are fairly terrible. But to be honest, I'm not expecting much after less than a week 2009-11-21 21:55:00

By bugs, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean helpful bugs, like glass sponge, or hindering bugs, like wheel of death?

I have ran into five excellent levels. They are:

"Tinker Tower v1" by Orleanknight (This one is so far my favorite level)
"Mountains and Fresh Air" by tiedtke_469
"Pinball Platformer" by CrocStock
"SuperSackball!" by AceCreator
"Little Platformer" by jackofcourse

All of these levels were excellent, and I recomend these levels to anyone with the game. I found them by searching for the highest rated (for some reason the default search is the newest levels one) and downloading all the ones that have four and five stars. I was not expecting to find any good levels in the first week.

Bugs to avoid, unfortunately (I never find the cool bugs). I've made threads about the two I have encountered.

I've played everything that has been recommended here but there's nothing to even remotely impress me yet to be honest.

There's a few that are okay, and I mean okay when you consider it is the first week, but nothing that I think would stand the test of time or that I'd want to keep.

It has only been less than a week. Most creators would still be finding their feet, so I'd expect stand-out, original levels appearing steadily after a month. Who knows how it'll turn out, but it should be fun to watch, and I'm excited to see what levels some of PS3's great creators come up with for the PSP version. 2009-11-22 21:48:00

PLay Mountain Adventure(the icon is a green dragon). That's a good one. Amazing looking characters and a platform maze. whats weird is that theres a 2x part in it lol(theres no 2 player). Also theyre good considering how hard it is to make a level without it crashing on you/or annoying bug hapenig

Played that mountain level. Again, it's alright but nothing I'd want to keep. It's good compared to the rest, but it's not something that anyone is ever going to 'wow' at really, especially in a few months when people have got to grips with create mode a bit more.

Getting my second level back from someone at Cambridge tomorrow so I should have another level published within a week or so

I'm creating one atm so I'll be sure to put it up in the showcase section when I'm done
When that will be? Not a clue. I've only done about 10 seconds of the level (and that's taken plenty of time as it is! Getting used to the tools and what not).
