Creator Edition content coming later

Archive: 26 posts

Some of you may have bought the Creator Edition and have tried unsuccessfully to redeem the code for the extra content. Well, SCEE had some problems and now it looks like it will be released on December 7th.

All the backgrounds, music, stickers, materials etc. will probably be released at a later date on the PSN store so everyone can buy, by the way.

Did mnnimo sneak this in yet?

Creator edition? Is this available as a download? Well - more accurately, when the game is finally on PSN will it be available as a download version? This is the first I've seen this "version" mentioned.2009-11-20 20:18:00

Maybe it's Europe only. Only heard of it once before, but then it sounded like some special offer from a store and not an official special edition.
Does sound like the version to get though, if you are planning on creating and don't want to wait for the stuff to appear as DLC.

@Morgana: Next Tuesday seems to be the date for the US PSN release. (Link (http://www.littlebigland.com/little-big-planet-news/lbp-psp-likely-to-hit-us-psn-store-on-tuesday/))

That's because it seems that they are the only regions getting that edition... which is just plain stupid.

Who's idea at SCEE was that?

But In the comments of that blog update I did ask Mark if it were exclusive to that edition.

We don't have a date set for releasing this content on general sale on the PSN but I would expect it definitely to happen further down the line ? it?d be a shame to only let a fraction of the community have access to all the extra materials!

Really? Whoever thought that would be a good idea. I mean it's perfect for me, but that leaves out thousand of potential buyers.

I know...

But I can't even find any other regions even mentioning this version.

Let alone that blog post was the first time I heard of such a version (and I'm sure a lot of other people too).

To what exactly? The site where I got the content information from? It's in German (http://www.waltersoftware.de/sony-littlebig-planet-creators-edition-konsolen-spiele-ps-p/8d94) (Only site as far as I know that says anything about the extra content, so I'm not sure how trustworthy those infos are.)

Amazon.de (http://www.amazon.de/Little-Big-Planet-Creators-Edition/dp/B002UAHFKQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1258753040&sr=8-1) (No info)

Wow - yup - sure looks like a special edition. Ran it through Babel Fish and I don't see any details listed but very interesting that It's no where else. Good find - just wish there was some kind of comment from someone at Sony or Cambridge about this.2009-11-20 21:51:00

Little Big Land said that it might become DLC later for the rest of us. Apparently, the content includes a bunch of stuff from the PS3 version.2009-11-21 23:07:00

i work at a gamestop in florida and we didnt get any creators editions to sell so i dont think thats it coming to america. the only thing that game stops had were codes to unlock 3 costume sets : Uncharted 2(Nathan Drake, and Chloe Frazer), Motor Storm(Lucky Jack Flynn, and Candy Buzzbomb), Killzone2(Helghast Officer, and Tank costume)...u could only get the codes if u pre ordered the game...unless there were extras which my store had plenty of2009-11-22 11:12:00

I messaged Sam about this and he said this;

This was a regional decision made despite my highlighting that such an edition should be available everywhere (it's pretty much my catchphrase in these parts - "is it going to be available everywhere at the same time?"). In this case it is currently only available in a few places in Europe, however we do have plans to release the content seperately via PSN further down the line. I don't have any estimates of when this will be just yet, but I wouldn't expect to see it this year.

So it seems like that it will be releasing around the world... just not any time soon.

All the hard work of coding and graphic design are done, so I would think additional region releases of this content would simply be free money for MM/Sony. I'm sure we'll eventually see this pack, but it probably won't be for quite a while.2009-11-24 03:28:00

...can we all update the "Normal Game Version" to the "Creator's Edition Version" ? I also want all the extra content for this lovely game...

I hope we'll get this from the PlayStation-Store too...
