Why can't I ace this level? I beat it without getting killed plenty of times, but it won't register as an ace. I did the race as well.

I don't remember having this problem but I did find the following using a google search. "I had trouble with this one too lol, if you have a second remote and another person IRL to play with you, it's easy. Both of you just get through the stage like normal (remember dont die! lol) then once you get to that part of the level, have the second player jump down only, and this activates to make the bird come down to swing across, now have the second player turn off the controler and the sackboy/girl will just vanish, and you can get through the level with no deaths ^_^" Or if a buddy online can help you, cool, just do the same, get to the area, have your buddy jump down to activate the bird, then have him leave the game, swing across and presto! finish up the level without dieing and your in the clear!" I watched a youtube video about it and the guy just jumped up and grabbed the bird instead of falling down when the bridge breaks. I'll try that later.

Earlier in the level, there is a sticker switch that brings down a race gate (which also unlocks a secret trophy). Doing this brings the bird down when the bridge breaks so you don't have to pop yourself out, and popping counts as a death.

Wait, there's a race? Yep, you use a sticker (I think a shoe one) on one of those cardboard things to get a race gate down (it also gets you a trophy). that's how you're supposed to ace it. So yes, the one with the shoe.
