Adorable! Not much more to say. While I can see that the programmers would probably prioritize other tasks and while it would most certainly take quite some time to implement this feature, I'd just love to see littlebigpets! On a related side note, it would also be nice to have "interactive pod decoration". I was primarily thinking of furniture (maybe letting us use all guesstimated 7 or 8 layers of the pod), TVs and lights, but a "pod pet" would be cute! or how about, a section in your popit, with a variety of animals that you can tweak the colour of but still resemble sackboy material that you can place in your level, and are affected by the same things as sackboy dies if it touches hazards, can be grabbed can hit buttons (but not proxys) | 2009-11-19 18:37:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |

I would agree that this idea is really good and opens up a lot of gameplay possibilities. However, it does seem like a rather difficult feature to integrate in terms of technicality. LBP is a rather simple game to play - that's one of the reasons that it's so popular. With the addition of pets, the gameplay may become complicated or challenging; ideally, you'd be able to issue the creature commands to sit or follow, but it also has to act as its own being. Will the Pet have its own individual lives counter, or will it share lives with its owner? Treas: Good point. I'll take a cute little doberman pinschersack to guard my pod, while I'm away. Then lure in some of my firends in for him to have a snack. LOL SLS10: It would be a good idea to have the pet share the players lives. Also, the pet could just be on like an auto-pilot and always make a successful jump or in the case of the sack bird, stay on your shoulder or fly around behind you. I think that this could be done as simply as integrating all of the other interactive items that LBP has. It's just a matter of programming and Mm has some brilliant talent. A pet could work if there were levels compatible with pets, or there could be a command where the pat is at it's master's side and when ever the master dies so does the pet as well. I could really enjoy having a little sack dog or a tiny sack mouse. Sack pets in your pod would be the best. I hate the pod. I wish you could actually build stuff in it, put power-ups in it, change materials, ect, but that's a whole 'nother topic on its own. srgt: Ummm......that's not a pet dude. That's an inanimate, stick on, sorry excuse for piece of junk pet idea. It's just a fish stuck on a frikkin paintinator! Sorry, not to be rude, but I mean a fully interactive sub-character that kind of has a mind of it's own, but doesn't. It would simply follow you around levels, hang out with you in your pod, do certain simple things with hand motion signals when you move your arms around. I want a big fatty bear that's made of some carpet material and he would eat, sleep and rip threw my pods floor and I would have an excuse to have alot of duct tape and it would love me unconditionally lol, on a serious note, Pod pets sound manageable but come on....pets that follow you around and are needed for levels? Lets be realistic. If you really wanted that you could just make it. I think the idea would be more "viable" if it didnt have special powers, if it were more like an extra player or a costume piece, the extra player wouldnt be able to do anything just take up room on the start bar, Or if it were a costume piece it would run/fly/flop around your sack, However if this were to be somehow implemented into the pod, then it would have free rein and say youo didnt go on lbp for a while you could come back and your pet would lick you say. I really like the idea. Should it be a new 'fold' in the costumes part, or should it be another button? Having it as a button, could also have food, toys etc., so that you can actually feed it, making it able to do things for one, so that it would also work as a little companion (grabbing things for you, so that some 2x parts will be easily solveable. Of course a 'No Animals Allowed' thing should also be made along with it then). Also, having it return to the pod when dismissing it, would be awesome . A pack with animals could be cool.. Here's some ideas! A Dog A Cat A Wolf A Reindeer A Mini Snowman A Jumpking Pumpkin A Ghost A Rabbit A Half Rabbit, Half Human Thing etc.. I like this idea alot! Only for the pod? Maybe that's where they should live, but I think it would be neat if there was more to them. Like a fourth planet/moon that your pet can have some use on? Maybe something competitive. Unfortunately there woul be no way I can think of to raise their stats in a game about user generated content that wouldn't be easy to abuse. Nice idea for the pod, but if the pets can do anything, I mean ANYTHING at all besides being a part of your costume then they would absolutely break the game. Imagine having to create all of your levels with these new pets in mind, or going back and republishing all of your levels with a "No pets allowed" thing. This is the only way teh kittehs (and other pets) could be in the game. You can kinda do this already though... The paintinator glitch allows you to float decoration in mid air and stay with sackboy. So you can have a pet butterfly, fish, sea horse, and any other decoration/ decoration combination you can think of... It would be really cool to have your own pet...perhaps if the pet followed at your side, like the Paintinator pet glitch, but yet you could issue it commands, like to sit while you are standing still. Maybe MM could add it where you have a "Customize Pet" section in your Popit, just like the section you use to customize your sack, but for your pet. It sounds reasonably easy to program and a great feature for the biggest of LBP fans: LittleBigPets! Also, I think the pet should probably share lives with its owner, dying when its leader sack does. Maybe pet owners could have an option to "put their pets away," literally commanding their pets to "climb inside their Popits." This way, they could keep their pets safe or simply give them a rest. Other sacks being able to pet and interact with others' pets definitely sounds like a good idea, but I don't know about harming them-a sack understandably would NOT like someone just walking up and slapping their precious pet! But anyways, I really encourage this idea. It opens up an even broader range of customization in LBP, and we all know that's one of the strongest reasons why MM made LBP-to give us a place to express ourselves and customize our time there.
