Here it is! Survivor: LittleBigPlanet!

To the best of my knowledge, this is the first LBP contest of it's kind. In this contest, 16 players will be split into two teams, compete, and vote each other out until only one remains and becomes the Sole Survivor!

Format:

Once we get 16 players, I'll divide them into two teams of eight. Every 2-3 days there will be a challenge where the two teams face off and one is declared the winner. The losers must vote one of their team out of the game.

Once a good portion of players have been eliminated (exact number to remain secret until it happens), the two teams will merge and competitions will then become individual. The winner of these individual challenges gets immunity from being voted off. All remaining players will vote for one of those remaining.

Once we get down to the final two, the seven most recently eliminated players (9th-3rd Place) will each cast a vote for who they want to win. Most votes in the final vote becomes the Sole Survivor.

Rules and format for each challenge will be presented to the players following each vote.


Doesn't LBP max out at 4 players?
Since LBP maxes out at 4 players, I've devised challenges that will work around that limitation. For example, members from each team will be randomly paired off with a member from the opposing team. These two will race against each other in a the chosen level. I will go into the level as well to observe. Whoever wins the race, earns a point for their team. Most points win. Here's another challenge: The teams are given access to a chosen level for a period of 24 hours. They are each told to pay attention to as much as they can about the level. At the end of the 24 hours, the teams are asked questions about the level to see what they can remember. Each correct answer earns a point for your team. Most points win.

Want to play? Here's what you need to do:
Post in this thread saying that you want to play. Once you do, I'll send you an invite to the Survivor: LBP group. Accept the invite and you're officially in the game.

However, there are some requirements for potential players:
Be willing to play 3 levels with me so I can see your ability in LBP in order to fairly create teams.
Once the 16 are chosen, you must let me know who, if any of the players you have a preexisting relationship with.
Be able to dedicate at least an hour to this game every 2-3 days. This will include the challenge, and the voting process.
Be willing to stick with this game for as long as you're still in it. If this starts right away, we'll probably end sometime in early December.
Be able to take in game screenshots and either post them online or send them to me.
Be willing to follow the rules of a given challenge.


I will incorporate as many aspects of LBP as possible into this competition. Creation, platforming, puzzles, survival challenges, teamwork... I hope this can be one of the most memorable LBPC community contests ever.

Winner gets 1000 XP and a PSN game from the US store valued $5.99 or less.

You need to have 16 immunity challenges. wich means 16 immunity levels that all have to have the same island them and in addition they need to be great and competitve so players can meet up in pairs.

Or make an indiviudal survivor challenge were the loser get knocked out every round ?		2009-11-17 16:09:00

Well then make survival challenges. But all the levels must have a theme. If you want to have the location in africa, all the levels must have an simmulair affrican theme. If you would like to have it in a pacific island, Then everything must have such a theme.

But if you make survival challenges. You must make it endless and so just like the meercat survival challenge that comes with the game. And increasingly harder so that after maybe 5 minutes when maximum difficulty is reached it becomes an endurance challenge.

Allso if you want to have an individual survival challenge. Remember that everyone will try several times untill they get a very good time. AND don't make the level to populair. if you make it to populair ( wich is hard to do unintentional) Then it will become hard to see who has the highest position on the scoreboards.

I will be able to play in saturday late when i get lbp back. I haven't made any levels for a while since i couldn't with little big planet being out of my hands so i only got 2 levels worth spending time on.

I will start focusing on creating a level if you are not online. But simply send me a pm in psn ( If i join i will decide before saturday) on saturday when you se me online. We can play your'e levels so you can see what i got.

PS. You should have a giant maze level were the players can find the hidden immunity idol =D A very very hard maze were the first player to take a screenshot of the idol and send it to you can use it at a tribal council.

I really like the concept of hidden immunity idols that were introduced at Season 12 exile island =D Really nice to see some hated person use it and then someone else that didn't expect it gets voted out.		2009-11-17 20:17:00

Good of you to think of me, Dive. And this contest sounds really interesting, it should be a lot of fun. I have a couple things I'm working on right now that will take a big chunk of my time. If there's ever a Survivor LBP (Season 2), I'll consider joining then. :-) Great idea Mr. Radical. And I wish you much success with it.

There's a level you could check out. It's called 7th Idol by Miglioshin. It's a survival challenge which involves you trying to find 7 hidden idols. Just an idea I'd thought I would throw out there. Good luck fellas!		2009-11-18 18:50:00

I will probably fail this miserably, but I'm in.

I'm not too great with anything that does not involve platforming, but though the odds are against me I'll still give it a go. I've been really busy creating and working on different projects, but I'm sure I can sacrifice my play time I take out here and there for this contest since it doesn't require a whole lot of one's time. ^_^

I suppose if I am still in and something comes up in my personal life, I can just request to be voted off or something.

s3xnstilettos is in. I've got a fourteenth that hasn't registered yet, but I know will be a player.

doubletime, the rules for the first challenge are posted on each team's page. the way it's going to work for this one.... each team picks an order that they want their players to compete 1st-7th. those picked first from each team will face off in a race. second will face of against second, third against third, so on and so on. each race winner gets a point for their team. the team with the most points wins. for this challenge, only 3 people will be in the level at a given time. one from zola, one from jalapeno, and me.

And you can upload a picture of the idol as soon as you can. The earliest physically possible is after the first challenge though...		2009-11-20 21:20:00

I also have the worse lag around, although not too bad if I'm host. But when it comes to joining I often have severe lag. Almost everyone in LBP experiences lag, so I would think we're all in the same boat, otherwise I wouldn't of joined if I thought I was only lagger.		2009-11-20 22:23:00

The funny thing is, even though I have the best internet and speed available, I still suffer lag more severe than most people I've played with.

It could be that I have a wireless router. Not sure.

On very rare occassion I'm lucky and don't have lag when joining, and when host I very rarelt experience severe lag.

Wow, cool website! I love the little biographies of all the competitors and the videos were fun to watch. This is shaping up to be a great contest.

Previusly on, survivor.

In the first challenge the newly formed zola tribe defeated the jalapeno tribe in a very hard obstacle course, therefore winning the first immunity challenge. The hunt to find the idol was on even before the first tribal councill and burnvictim found the hidden immuntiy idol with some help from s3x on the abandond course, but unfortunately someone else found it just 1 minute earlier ( Hopefully not one of thoose jalapeno jerks XD).

In the first tribal councill onlinezombie got voted out and was the first to leave the game, 15 are left. Who will be voted out tonight ?

Yeah and you should post a " tribal councill level " were you can see the tourches of thoose still in the game and get a recap. Wich is updated frequently. with each torch there is a picture of the survivor or the survivors name and Online Zombies tourch should be turned off.		2009-11-24 12:02:00

I'm looking for a few people to help me out. There are two positions to be filled:

Co-Creator: Right now, I'm building a new level every 2-3 days. If there's someone out there who'd be willing to either take direction and bring to life some of my blueprints or collaborate with me on some new ideas, let me know. If you want to help with this, please point me in the direction of whatever levels you've made that you're proudest of. I'd also advise that you check out the levels in my signature to see what sort of stuff I make.

Supervisor: Since I try to keep track of everything that happens, I'll end up in level during a lot of the challenges. For the sake of opening up the amount of time that the players can compete, I'd love to have a helper or two to go into the levels in my place. This entails: being familiar with the rules of Survivor, being able to keep track of challenge rules and players, and most importantly, being able to video the challenges.

I know that each of these helper positions are kind of intense, but I figured it couldn't hurt to see if anyone out there wanted to lend a hand. Worse case scenario, I just keep on doing it myself.		2009-11-26 08:55:00

figure that 11 will be left after tonights votes. 9 challenges left... at 2-3 days per challenge... 18-24 days? we should be able to go a lot faster once we get down to smaller numbers... the inactives seem to be getting voted off, so depending on the players, we might be able to knock out a challenge a day near the end.2009-12-02 00:31:00

Rock and everyone i guess, I am planning on doing a season 2. I want to start that one in mid to late January if at all possible. I'll need to save up enough points to buy the offer xp item again...

This time around, I want to start off with 24 people and do a week long trial period. Sort of like the first few rounds of this game. I'll put the 24 into a group, and ask everyone to post at certain times, play certain levels, and do a bunch of simple things. I'll see who actually does anything and who actually does stuff in the group page. If everyone rocks, I'll do a game w/ 24. If everyone doesn't, I'll take the 16 best people.

We ended up with who we ended up with because they were the first 16 people who signed up. Some have been awesome, and some... Hopefully there will be more of a turnout the next time around for potential players. We'll see...

@everyone looking for vids of the darkness challenge - i did film it, but I had to zoom out so far to see what was going on, that combined w/ the darkness, it's kind of hard to see much. Either way, I'll be uploading them soon...

One final thing - I see the site hasn't reported this yet, but it looks like there will be a pirates of the Caribbean pack coming out with levels and more like the metal gear pack... and it seems like that might be the pack that brings the water. Woah, this contest is really tight - a different person has won each of the last 5 challenges. It's exciting because it means that anyone could win - but even more tense for the contestants, I suppose! From mr Radical's descriptions it sounds like there might have been some tactical voting going on too - or at least an attempt at it - which all adds to the uncertainties.
