Just A Quick Question.........

This may sound a little funny, but here it goes. Would any of you who are applying for 3D art type jobs ever add your LBP creations or levels to your portfolio to show your creative and ingenuity skills? | 2009-11-13 15:46:00 Author: Haleys_Papa Posts: 171 |
For a 3D art portfolio? I highly doubt it. LBP is a very low-polygon and low texture resolution game. IMO, you would need to pour all of the thermometer into a single object in order to make it look professional enough to be considered. When I think of 3D art, I think more of pieces like this : http://www.neosurrealismart.com/3d-artist-gallery/3d-artworks/27modern-surrealist-sandcastle.htm As a 3D editor, LBP is simply too basic in comparison to other tools. That's my opinion though, don't take it as mantra. I'm entirely convinced it's possible to make a jaw-dropping, artistic set piece using LBP. But while I have seen some impressive designs in certain levels, there is still just no comparison with what a 3D artist can do using proper tools. | 2009-11-13 16:28:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
Quite a very wise input. Thank you! That was just what I was looking for. | 2009-11-13 16:38:00 Author: Haleys_Papa Posts: 171 |
I'd say that for a level design job or similar it would be a good idea but for an art job, I don't really see it as really benifital. . | 2009-11-13 22:09:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
