I am deploying, can I download the created levels to my PS3?

Archive: 9 posts

Hello,
I am going to be deploying alittle after LBP hits the stands, and I was wondering if I would be able to download levels from the Share mode onto my PS3 so that I can play through them while I wont have access to the internet. I have been waiting for this game for a long time, and I am looking forward to taking it with me to have others play it with me.

I know that the Mods may not know for sure, but I figured that if anyone could find out, it would be you guys and Sam.

I am kind of worried, because it seems like the games in Share mode, created by fans, might be stored temporarily for single plays, then deleted.

I hope I am wrong.

Thank you all for the eyes and ears to the LBP stone, I haven't seen such an honest and good natured group in a long time.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thank you all,

I don't really get what your trying to say.

I think I got some of it right soo, here's my shot.

The share mode is the key element in this game that makes it so unique, so it definately won't be deleted. Unless MM is stupid, if that is what you meant.

As if you need internet to download maps, I think you do to download other players maps.

Sorry if I misinterpreted what you meant, care to rephrase it for some of us mammals out there?

EDIT : The Share Mode won't be out out of the box, they have announced it will come with a patch. No one knows when though, but you can still play Co-op Online.

i'm pretty sure just online multiplayer create is what is coming in the patch.

@trialaccess - I reckon the levels will automatically delete after one play. They are very small files so it only takes a few seconds for it to download anyway. The download happens in the loading screen.
You can still play levels you have created which are on your moon without the internet and story mode.

Yes, my question was more of the latter, If I could retain downloaded levels. I know I will be able to play my own levels, and the story levels, but I was hoping that there would be a way that I could download others levels, as many as I could get my hands on, so that there would be more to play when I was there with no internet.

Thanks for the quick responses!:hero:

Oh well yea of course you can do that, once you download a level it saves onto your Harddrive. What i'm wondering is, what if the creator of the level deletes it. Will it still be on your harddrive? Anyone know?

Most likely. It's not like he can reach into your PS3 and take it away.

In the beta you can copy levels from the "LittleBigPlanet" to "Your Moon" for yourself to do whatever you please with later. Although thee uploader may copy protect his level in which you can not save it. You can save up to 100 levels I believe.2008-09-24 04:43:00
