We?re one week out from the launch of LittleBigPlanet PSP and to celebrate SackBoy going portable, we?ll be teaming up with the Academy of Art University?s School of Game Design in San Francisco for a 24-hour LittleBigPlanet PSP Game Jam Session this Wednesday and Thursday. Similar to what we did with Parsons The New School for Design last year prior to the launch of LittleBigPlanet (PS3), students will demonstrate their keen artistic talents and create dueling game levels utilizing the easy-to-use creation tools of LittleBigPlanet PSP?but this time it will be all on the go! Each team of students will take their PSP through the streets of San Francisco looking at Bay Area architectural icons (buildings, historic landmarks, statues, bridges, etc.) for inspiration and ideas to incorporate into their level design. So, if you see our students running around the streets of San Fran tomorrow, be sure to say hello! At the conclusion of the 24-hour period, each team?s game levels will be presented and judged by members of SCEA and Academy of Art faculty, as well as one of our LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year amateur level creators. The winning team will be announced the following day and will have their creations made available online once the game hit stores on November 17. To get you even more fired up for LBP PSP, here?s another look at our Create trailer? I'll be one of the judges out there, so I'll be sure to pick something pretty sweet. The winners get a PSPgo preloaded with LittleBigPlanet PSP! Not bad of a prize, eh? The contest starts tomorrow. I'll be uploading pics of the contest as it continues on top of giving you guys a little more info on what to expect in the game. =)

Awesome! Is it safe to assume they are referring to you when they say "one of our LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year amateur level creators"? Does that title allow you to carry a GOTY Level Creator badge around? Anyway, looking forward for the updates. I'm really psyched for LBP PSP!

Lol, that's right! I'll be judging the contest with other SCEA reps and the faculty! I'm in the airport right now to SF. More updates to come soon when I touch ground. dunno about the badge though. =p

Why aren't you hired by MM yet? I did hand them my resume personally when I visited them last month, lol. That of course would be a dream job, but right now I don't think my skill set matches any of the positions open. As of now I'm currently in the medical field on top of going through grad school so we'll see. But really, I wouldn't mind changing career tracks to work with them.

Wow, I had no idea this was going on... And right in my back yard too. Will there be any kind of public unveiling of the contestants' levels? My wife is out of town for the week and I'm bored with nothing to do - I'd love to go check this out.
