Media Molecule not making LBP sequel...

They talk about how they just want to add DLC instead of making a sequel to the game. I love this idea. I wish more games did this. ex. Guitar Hero games, Madden football

Why create a new game when you can just add more stuff to the current one?
Nice thing.

I totally agree without even reading it. Just build upon what we got now. More backgrounds...MORE music objects. MORE EVERYTHING!2009-11-05 17:52:00

Yeah Media Molecule is a good developer. A lot of companies will push out sequels every year just to make more money. *cough* Guitar hero series!
Imagine if they stopped making the music games and just added new songs. Every year they just add a few worthless additions for $60.

I'm sure Media Molecule could make a sequel if they wanted to. They could put tons of new costumes, decorations, stickers, the new Water beta stuff, new levels. But I'm happy they're just adding onto LBP.

Well, LBP, only with the prox Online Create and Water Patch, will be like a LBP 1.5 . This game can grow up with patches and new things, we doesn't need LBP 2. I think that all you need in the game can be build.2009-11-05 18:02:00

Well, they always said that.
Also, at some point they will do a sequel or another game. It's just a matter of time. What they mean is that they will run LBP for as long as they can profitably do.

Once they implement PORTALS that looks like checkpoints but takes you to a brand new levels it's ON!! You can go from level to level without going back to your pod. I want that. And then for a LBPC "pod" level of it's own which extends out to our spotlights and more.2009-11-08 13:40:00

They hinted at "level linking" at some point. So this type of thing might be in the works.

So when you've downloaded all your costumes, backgrounds, extra levels, stickers and other packs onto your nice shiny PS3 and you cant download any more stuff...What then?
As far as I know DLC can't be stored on something external. However I do agree not releasing LBP2 is a good idea. Mm could possibly release version of DLC which can be downloaded to an external memory but locked to that PS3 or that edition of LBP or that specific user(s).

I always thought this game would be best if it didn't have a sequel, so I'm glad to hear they are doing this.

Hmm, I've never heard about this "level linking". That could be very cool!

There's no use for this. ALL the DLC is downloaded into your hard drive and even the DLC you didn't pay for. If ever you need to download your DLC (or should I say, your DLC keys) PSN let's you redownload your stuff infinitely in the same PSN account. You can activate your account on 5 different PS3s. I mean, it's pretty flexible already, you can't really lose anything.

Good. I think it is best that there is only only one LBP per console/handheld.2009-11-11 11:47:00

Then after the last DLC (http://criteriongames.com/packs/island.php) they never speak a word again.

Still, MM are putting a lot of cool things in this including new tools and materials so they can put a lot of stuff that could be a sequel in the first game

I hope they dont make another LBP. I would be annoyed switching between the 2 games to try and copy a level I made on LBP1 to LBP2 Just my looking at it.2009-11-12 21:32:00

Well, I suppose that if they would make a sequel they would make so it can also play LBP1 levels. Kinda like Rockband 2 can take Rockband songs.
