Unavailable Inspiration

Yup.

I don't know what to build, I've had these ideas:

-The Fairytale concept art.
-A Dead Space level.
-A giant lost city.
-The Wolf 2 (or a title that's similar).

Overall, I think I'll just stop playing LBP for now, there are no interesting levels, I suppose I'm just not easily impressed by what people build.

I think I'll go do something else besides playing LBP. :O

I might come back for online create, or water, but that seems boring too.

I might come back if the My Advice music is released.

Those are good ideas...But I know what you mean. It takes a long time to create levels and the process of doing so isn't all that exciting. I hope you do find some inspiration soon, though.2009-11-04 23:02:00

Making a new level is my personal potion against boredom!

I find it hard to make a level, not the building part, but the skill of the level, as in, when I build a level, I want to make it really nice, but then I put to much time into it, and then I get bored with it. I find it hard to make a level just for fun!

Hey man, I understand this that you said really well. It is really sad when we are all excited with the ideas and efforts we will place, and we get "Bah... I got tired of this." because consequential artblocks and (or) lack of patience to deal with the level.

I hear ya man. I'm so bored with LBP I barely ever go on. I'm always playing Team Fortress 2 But when water/online create come out, I'll probably start playing for a month and then leave for a year xD

And much like you said, I don't get impressed easily. Levels may look good in comparison to others, but some are just bland.

So just take a break - do something else you find fun. Take a jog, climb a tree, or type on your computer...ah, the possibilities....

Eventually, both of us might find our interest back in LBP...

Everyone is hating on LBP. There is gonna be some bingeing soon. The trick is to rotate your gaming. I play LBP every other day.2009-11-05 07:22:00

I was feeling the same way a few weeks back. I would spend hours in create mode, achieving nothing worthwhile and getting very frustrated. But then after one broken Playstation, a play through Little King's Story on the Wii and then a run through Uncharted 2 when I got my PS3 back from repairs, I felt refreshed enough to push on with my current creation and found the creative well which I thought had dried up had somehow filled up again while I was playing other stuff. I was able to create productively and pleasurably again. So, I'd recommend you take a break and come back to LBP in a few weeks time....I'm sure you'll find that the overall quality of your levels improves because of it and the experience of creating will become more enjoyable. (If you're not sure what to play instead, I can highly recommend Infamous, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Uncharted 2 if you haven't played 'em already.)2009-11-05 09:20:00
