LBP 'Gold Moments'

Archive: 18 posts

So here we are, a year after release of LBP.

What are your favourite 'golden' moments from all the levels of the past year? Your choices don't have to be full levels; it may be the moment you saw an astounding boss, or the moment you completed a puzzle only to be presented with a fabulous cut-scene, or even a mechanic or design that you'd never seen before.

Just to start, here are a few moments that spring to mind:

- the first time I saw the dragon from The Azure Palace by gevurah22
- the galleon ship in the intro of Abyss! by Jaeyden
- the first time I played Maxed Out by Qugz
- being amazed at Simplexity by Rayvolution
- watching the 'teaser' trailers by both johnee and wexfordian
- Kiminski's 'Sonic' tribute. All of it.

There are absolutely loads more. What are your LBP golden moments ffrom the past year?

Distress in the Ocean, it was one of the first levels I ever played, and I thought the giant cannon vs. giant shark on fire was fun!2009-11-04 21:42:00

I was playing with my sister, and on the crocodile safari level where you pass a photobooth, I swung over the croc's head while my sister fell in with a sad face and it took a picture, and I couldn't stop laughing XD2009-11-04 21:48:00

Well it's gotta be playign with friends
Whether I'm going through a classic level with them or just messing around and talking in their pods - excellent fun, truely golden moments!

I'd say publishing my first level on one of my old PSNs. It was called 'Canada' and was basically just some cars, jetpacks and spinning sponges all with the wilderness background xD

Guess we all start somewhere though...

Oh and the most golden moment I remember in LBP was playing the bunker with my sister and two cousins... the hamster wheel of death was HILARIOUS.

When I finally managed to make a biped walker that walks.

Though one level that really wowed me was NinjaMicWZ's False Idols III, as well as the Contra remake levels.

I know my favorite moment in LBP was when my bro and I went to r22qblah blah's tank level and my bro would always get run over by the tank and he would always try to blow me up with the tank and yeah. Good times. Also when I published my first place. My friend was always like "Dude you need more pics" and then he ran me over.2009-11-17 02:43:00

The first time I went into cool pages I had been popping into a bunch of user-created content and, honestly, was not super impressed.

Then, I innocently went into "Azure Palace".... thought "well, it's pretty good... detailed, original, and nice looking...".

Grabbed the sword, entered the main chamber and...... HOLY SHNIKIES!!!!! THAT CREATURE IS INCREDIBLE!".

Honestly, if I hadn't run into that creature I probably would not still be playing LBP today - THAT was the level that made me want to create.

-Seeing the camera scroll for the first time in Jumper: The Red Zone by deboerdave
-Just breaking out laughing playing Subterranean Setbacks with 3 other friends watching who can outrun the rat the fastest.
-Playtesting for CENTURION24 in his latest A Level That Plays Itself x4. Watching 4 sackpeople get launched into the air simultaneously just caught my breath.
-Jaeyden's levels... anytime I play them, I still get amazed.

You just reminded me.... first time I saw the beginning of "Abyss!" from Jaeyden. When people come over to my house, I still use the beginning of that as an example of what you can do in LBP.

My choices would be

-The opening to Abyss. (strange everyone agrees)
-When the roller coaster separated in two at the end of Industrial Assistance
-Spending two hours with 3 buddies and only reaching the fifth section in Quartet by Nemm
-When The building collapsed in Post-Apocalyptic
-Joining this site

Aww bless
