I just saw this movie, and it

ME
THE
HECK
OUT.
It was so intensely amazing, and such a low-budget movie, it was purely brilliant.

I'm planning on seeing this as soon as I have some time. Seems to be the new "Blair Witch" - tiny budget movie with a lot of buzz and a big marketing push resulting in a low-budget phenomenon.

I really like that they're placing it into the incredibly mundane and ordinary setting of a bedroom at night. This is where many of my personal freakouts have occurred. Night terrors, waking up from intense nightmares, being absolutely horrified as a child at night in bed. It's easy to lie in bed at night with insomnia and imagine the ghosts in the darkest corners of the room. It's ripe for the right kind of movie treatment.

So I'm interested in that take on it, but I don't want to go in expecting too much - but I am very curious to see this movie!		2009-11-03 12:59:00

I saw it Hallowe'en night. I thought it had a lot of promise from seeing the commercials. What an utter piece of garbage! Not one jump-scare, over-rated effects, the whole thing reeked in my opinion. Heck, even the woman I was with was bored to tears with it. The only people screaming or freaked out were 16 year olds, or so it seemed. Nothing in it for adults, unless your a real chicken when it comes to scary movies. I thought The Blair Witch was a pile of dung, and this was only slightly better.

I'd love to know where they spent the 15,000 on the budget.... maybe the rental of the editing suite? *sigh*

But that's just my opinion. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Heck, at least wait until it leaves theatres and rent it.		2009-11-03 15:10:00

I have it, but I need my USB back from me papi so I can move the movie to my PS3 (not gonna watch it on this tiny computer screen).

Skimming through it looked like nothing was happening at all, just people hanging around in some house. So either I don't have the real movie, or it's one scary a*s house!

I'll screenshot the opening and you guys can tell me if it's the same thing as the theater, it probably is.

This movie was absolutely garbo in my opinion. It's sooo completely boring.

Oh, I seemed to have forgotten to mention that my dad was out working that night so my mom came in my room with a pillow and blanket, and just slept on my floor. lawl.

And yes, a lot of people are saying the movie was bad. It's about 50/50 good/bad, or so it seems.		2009-11-04 16:43:00

Well I thought I should make my own Verdict due to the 50/50 ratings.

Verdict
It's a waste of money to own on DVD, so best rent it. Even though it seems to be a dull version of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, it does make you a bit scared to record your house at night. So may I suggest the sequel to this scary motion picture, The Notebook?		2009-11-07 00:03:00

15000 dollar budget, and 250000000 grossed. can that much money be WRONG?

forgive me, of course it can. BUT i heard about this movie just as it was being leaked into film festivals and such, so i decided it'd be a good idea to see it since it got great reception.

my friend called me at like, 11 pm the day before i saw it, and he was kind of freaking out/breathing heavily and told me not to see it. i laughed at him a bit, lol

i heard that when speilberg saw it, he wanted to remake it, but it was too late and far too popular for his rich hiney to rip off. so he ended up doing the very last special effect [SPOILERS] at the end when the girl kind of screamed into the camera.		2009-11-07 11:11:00

Didn't seem scary at all to me. Maybe creepy at times but meh

I saw the ending where She starts eating Mica and is all possessed and whatever

i saw Paranormal Activity um 2 days ago and the end from the 1 i saw was:... ok well she calls a guy to help them but when the old guy arives he says oh no i cant help this house have stronge forces call someone else i cant help you.. and then he leaves.. then the guy called Micah i guess.. well he desides to leave the house buttt... Katie says no. lets stay here.. if we leave it will et worst trust me lets stay here blah blah* Micah is like wtf i though you wanted to leave this is all mess up.. so yeah then he walks away and Katie says everything is going to be fine now and smiles to the cam (she was been controled by the demon mhhm). then they go to bed. and she wakes up arround 3:15am and go downstairs.. (she is been controled by the demon).. then she screams allooottt and Micah goes down and then More creapy screams then total silence.. then Katie drops Micah agains the cam.. and i guess he die.. then Katie like smells him then she looks at the cam get closer and closer then she smiles and boom her face changes lol The End

bumpity bump. I went to see this movie today after hearing alot of negative stuff about it.

and I...absolutely loved it. it had this 'real' feeling since it was filmed using a normal camera. (unlike cloverfield where I had to throw up because they were constantly running)
here's my verdict.(SPOILERS)
It was a very good movie (albeit it feeling kinda short) with some really scary moments and some were very jumpy.

here's a...list of my scary moments

- loud demon scream
- ouija board being written on
- the diana part was also suprisingly creepy
- demon dragging katie away
- katie going downstairs yelling like a monster, making Micah wake up and when he goes down she stabs him
- Micah being thrown at the camera (very jumpy!)
- and last but not least...when katie jumps at the camera



at the end, I really enjoyed this movie (even though the acting sucked at times) and I'm giving it a 8/10 		2009-12-27 20:27:00
