Help with stickers on costumes

Archive: 8 posts

I'm new with LBP and I'm amazed at the detailed costumes people make with stickers. I tried it and I find it very frustrating to do.

1. How do you paint just small parts of your clothes with stickers? Everytime I do it I accidently paint my whole body or something. It's so hard.

Please if anyone can explain or give me a link to something that will give me tips to applying stickers on costumes.

First off, welcome to LBP!

Clothes stickering is pretty hard at times. Mostly because of things like you can't make stickers incredibly small for those detailed spots.

I'm sure that if you search something on LBP and LBPC you will find something to help you. Sorry I can't be of much use right now

But a tip: while you have the sticker out, and your about to hit X, hit R1 or L1 and you can rotate your sackboy, so you can sticker his arms or back better

I think if you look on Youtube, there are a few costume tutorials you could use to get a good idea to create one's by yourself. Also, there are loads of costume tutorial levels.2009-11-02 16:10:00

I'm not great at colouring within the lines either, but here's something that helps me a lot: when I accidentally color my eyes along, I go to the costumes menu and select a different pair of eyes, then switch back to the first pair. Any stickers will be gone.2009-11-03 12:52:00

Hello . I had some experience with this problem of yours concerning "How to detail small parts of our characters?" using stickers. Indeed we end by accident colouring our character?s whole body, mainly because the stickers won?t shrink to the desired size.

An advice I can give you is to do like I found on some community level tutorial:

If you are using custom stickers on your character, make a whole sticker with as much details as you can. This will includes all peculiar small details you need on the clothes.

I saw that they do this by drawing stuff with the materials and setting the gameview as "Front View", in order to make those annoying shadows disappear, and after that taking a photo of the "materials".

You might have to reposition the pieces of material, and thus retaking photos, until you get the correct sticker to place on your character.

I hope I was comprehensible and helpful.
