What program should I use to make....

Archive: 25 posts

The really awesome detailed realistic auras some people make?
I hear GIMP or photoshop but i want to start making sigs and learn some more for creativity. For whichever you use, is it easy for someone like me? I learn fast and experiment first.

I checked the similar threads thing and I found stuff on what are recommended programs for making anything in general.

I have the perfect sig for myself but it involves some auras. I won't request one since i'm VERY picky about my stuff.

I found an example but it's not from this site.

Thanks to chezhead for the link.

I've used both but I must say. Photoshop is way better. You get so many more tools, much more user-friendly. Except it's $100 for Ps elements and $300 for Ps CS4, however Gimp is free. So if it's just a hobby go with gimp, it will serve you fine. Now if you think you really like this stuff then go with Photoshop. (At least Photoshop Elements)2009-11-02 01:47:00

Yeah, if you don't have a problem with piracy or have the money on hand, it's best to begin with Photoshop. Otherwise, GIMP is an almost equal program but is free. I use GIMP and can tell you that what you want to do is possible within GIMP.2009-11-02 02:48:00

How can I have pics if It's gone ..... Plus I said probably and I judged based on what I saw on the sig creativity board.

I'll be making sigs for a while and then compare all my sigs with each other and find what I can do new and improve on. There's never too much to improve on

No one on that board is pro though. Pros are way better than you or me could hope to be without many many years of work.

I'm sure you'll get everything working and make another awesome sig

Adobe Photoshop Elements can be used by any number of people with one disk, so if you know anyone with it, just ask to borrow the disk. You need not the disk to launch it.

But if not, too bad. GET GIMP YOU PENNYPINCHER.

-No hard feelings, right. Right? /headshot,
