First week Downloadable Content

There hasn't been a specific thread on this subject but it merits a little more information.

There's been some queries about exactly how long is meant by "first week" given that the game releases on different days in various countries. We want to make sure that everyone who gets the game early can grab their additional Sackboy goodies (if they want to) so we'll make sure these are available for long enough for people to do so. The important thing to note here is that both of the below items will only be available at game launch, after which they'll be gone forever, so if you want to be one of a select few, get in there early.

The first item offered will be absolutely free; the Sackboy Spacesuit costume. Not only does this come in multiple parts, so you can mix and match it with other costume parts you have, but it also takes on the colouring of your Popit. This should allow plenty of variation in Spacesuits as many people will be bouncing around to celebrate launch!

The second item we're offering is the first in a series of rare LittleBigPlanet costume parts - the Week One Tshirt.

We'll detail much more of upcoming content for the game closer to game launch.

Same here, and it takes on the colour of your skin? Cool! I think I'll sport the gloves in create mode, as a protective measure xD

I don't know, doesn't seem like he was saying it would be free. My guess would be they want to make this a collectors item, even more than the spacesuit. If they charge for it and leave it only for the "first week" only hardcore LBP fans (such as many of us) will actually spend on it. Probably won't be very expensive though.		2008-09-22 20:52:00

I have a feeling we're going to be collecting LBP shirts and other sackboy gear like pokemon. I'd consider paying a dollar for it. The way the post from sony was worded made me think the shirt wouldn't be free. I could be wrong. Hope so.

"There will be a large amount of DLC available over time after the game releases incorporating both paid and free content - the launch tshirt will definitely be paid DLC, for example.

This is a t-shirt for your sackboy that will be paid for DLC. The Spaceman Sacksuit will be free. Much like the preorder sackfolks you can't download any of it until you've got the game. Both will only be available for only a week after release.		2008-09-23 13:33:00

MBB, The T-shirt is downloadable content at the minute. I mentioned I WANT it in a T-Shirt IRL, but it may or may not actually happen.

I haven't seen any information has been given ATM on whether the disc will be needed in order to download the content, but I'm guessing so.		2008-09-23 13:35:00
