Little Big Apocalypse: Episode 21Snowspot/SiberiusMartin
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs258.snc1/10516_525324249262_43100610_31246806_6536138_n.jpg As the nanovirus slowly gains control of the builder's body, he uses his remaining strength to find Sackboy.

A level series that is so long it takes two PSN accounts to finish is a rarity in LBP but that is exactly what Snowspot has done here. This level, presumably the last of the platforming type in the series maintains the difficulty of it's predecessors and brings this complex story to the brink of it's conclusion. Some of the most disturbing uses of eyes I've ever seen too. Experienced players will appreciate the challenge of this one.The final level in the Little Big Apocalypse series continues where the last one left off and delivers exactly what the fans wanted to play, challenging platforming mixed with excellent storytelling. Serving as a bridge between the actual levels and his upcoming animation project of the same name, he provides a nice build up at the end making the player thirsty for more. I for one look forward to the animated conclusion of this long running adventure soon to utilize multiple media formats.A long time ago, Snowspot had an idea. He wanted to create a huge level series that would involve an engaging story, brilliant gameplay and more innovation than you can shake a stick at. Twenty levels later and he brings out another jewel in his LBP proverbial crown. Simply put ? if you liked the other twenty (which you should have!) then you?ll love this. A series not to be missed out on and this level shows why. The 2026 Aerostation ProjectAsbestos101/Asbestos101
http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/5282/startv.jpgIn the year 2026 this is the only remaining sport. Sackpeople from around the globe come to compete in this death defying race through the clouds. Brought to you by 'Chug Lite' This level is of a medium to hard difficulty and you only have one life of which to get as far as you can.

A platformer/survival hybrid level that will have you back for more if you don't make it the first time. High flying challenges that look great and have the feel of a sport event as you fling yourself over obstacles and up to the finish line. Great fun and replay value if your looking for a top score.I must have played this level countless times both on my own and friends. Its an excellent survival level that will definetly tax your gaming skills. You will be hooked on getting that little bit further to find out what wonderful things await you next. This is one of those levels that lulls you into a false sense of security. It starts out all cute and innocent and within ten seconds you're dead. 24 attempts later and you're slowly moving up the scoreboard. Great design and a great challenge thrown in.Who's Stealing Our Delicious Delicious Brains?Argon_Vile/argon_vilehttp://img158.yfrog.com/img158/4592/brains01.jpgSomeone's been stealing everyone's brains! A spooky level set in the "Wedding" theme. Good for 1-4 sacks of any age.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhigG60N_Ew

Whimsical and dark in equal measure this is a great level to play that will have you laughing the whole way through. Great humour and fresh feeling platforming combine to make an impression you won't forget soon. The look is very in line with the Wedding story levels but Argon_Vile brings original platforming to it. Be sure to finish it for the "full" experience.Who indeed, has been stealing brains. Only one way to find out. I love the dark humour here. The level design, and especially the characters are top drawer as well. You know, I had a load of fun in this level pulling the characters apart to look at thier brains. It was great fun. Thats not saying the rest of the level did'nt match up to that, because it most certainly does. A good dose of dark humour, great hazards and fantastic visuals complement the great story perfectly. The zombie in me could not get enough of this level, a strange and hilariously dark tale where your main objective is to eat the brains of various quirky and well designed creatures. Some solid platforming mixed with stylish visuals finish the job to make this a really enjoyable journey to the scoreboard.Mmmmmmm, braaaaains. Woah, sorry about that, but in this level you are faced with finding the answer to one question ? who has stolen the delicious brains? Well you?ll have to play this delightfully cute and fun level in order to find out. Also watch for the twist at the end ? you?ll never see it coming?.Dreamscapebonner123/bonner123
http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/APhoto_79-1.jpgA whimsical land of wonder and friendly NPCs. Hopefully Nightmare wont visit.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpmFS8MjjMQ&feature=player_embedded

Great materials, textures and colors in this level. Beautiful geometric motifs in light and dark wood tones make it a beautiful level to play and the lighthearted feeling the platforming has make it a cute and fun level for all ages and abilities. Some interesting layer specific obstacles that make you stay aware of which layer you need to head to next and plenty of jumps and swings will keep you working the whole level through. Definitely whimsical and fun.I've played a few of Bonner123's levels recently and while they have had a similar style to this and looked very pretty, I felt they were a little lacking when it came to platforming. Bonner123 simply smashes it out the park with this level as not only does it look gorgeous, but it plays brilliantly as well. An overlooked gem.Lone Ninja Episode 6: A Thousand Lives A Daycoyote_blue/coyote_blue
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=902&pictureid=7895You and Daruisha find a portal to Yomi, Land of the Dead. You decide to go in and take the fight to Izanami where she lives. But even if you win, can you hope to escape the spirit world alive?

The last of the Lone Ninja series doesn't disappoint. More special ninja moves full of action that make vanquishing demons even more fun. Great characters with cool dialogue has been a staple for the series and finding out the futures of Daruisha and the Lone Ninja may take you a couple of plays through to fully explore. What's not to love?!AWESOME!! That is the very word I uttered when it seemed I just threw a chair straight at a demon. No time for a victory dance as the enemy quickly regrouped and I had lots more furniture to wave around. A great conclusion to the series, fast paced, full of frantic action and a satisfying bossfight. The multiple choice ending was a really nice touch. Very enjoyable!!One of the most underrated level series in LBP concludes in fantastic style. The usual innovative attacking sequences are all present ? but this time they are somehow faster and more frantic. This series ends in an amazing fashion, so give the others another (or a first) playthrough and then have a go at this gem.STAR WARS: The Return of the Jedi: Jabba's Palace: err... Etc!julesyjules/julesyjules
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1614&d=1256587204Chapter Seven : With Han Solo held captive, you set out on a secret undercover mission to sneak in, locate and rescue your friend from the slimy clutches of the infamous Jabba the Hut....

I look forward to new levels from julesyjules almost as much as Christmas and his latest is worth the wait! Gorgeous sunset skies over the surface of Tatooine are just the beginning of the visual and gameplay treats awaiting you. Battle the Rancor, survive the melee above the Sarlacc and laugh your way all the way to the scoreboard. Another wonderful level from the skilled hand of julesyjules. As this magnificent series nears its end, the levels get better and better with every new addition. From the sand dunes of Tatooine, through Jabba's Palace and back again to the twin suns, Julesyjules perfectly captures the swashbuckling feel of the opening act of Return Of The Jedi. As always, the characters are cute, the jokes hilarious and the platforming fun. My favourite series bar none, and I may well shed a tear when it's all over.Another level in the superb Star Wars saga, this one is even more tongue in cheek and as hilarious than the rest and thats saying something. Once again the visuals are great, the challenge is there in spades and you definetly will chuckle all the way though. Don't miss, and saver it, because all good things must come to an end.Julesyjules? brilliant retelling of the Star Wars saga continues!! I have hardly seen a creator combine gameplay, visuals, storytelling and most importantly humor into a solid mix like this before. My fellow spotlighters have already commented on various aspects of this wonderful level above me so I would like to add this as my final word: JulesyJules should receive a medal for spoofing an overspoofed franchise without falling into the tired clich?s. Nuff said!!Well I can?t add much more that hasn?t already been said, so I?ll keep this short and to the point. This is a Star Wars level better than the movie it portrays ? and if that isn?t enough to make you play it ? then you deserve to miss out!Cause And Effect 4TripleTremelo/TripleTremelo
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4638/aphotow.jpgThis is the fourth level in my Cause and Effect series, a series of 'Rube Goldberg Devices'. Just sit back and watch it.

These are just awesome to watch and if you've ever tried to make something work using just game physics you appreciate the precision and skill it takes to pull these kinds of levels off. The fourth of the Rube Goldberg Device levels from TripleTremelo is even more complex and mind bending than his previous three. You'll love the clever setups and technical mastery he shows in this mesmerizing level.Put down your pad and prepare to be amazed. TripleTremolo's Cause And Effect are the best Rude Goldberg devices in LBP. Excellent mechanics and timing make this stand up, and perhaps even better the other awesome levels in this series.TripleTremelo brings us another installment of Cause And Effect. Most of you have seen at least one of his Rube Goldberg devices in action but this one tops them all. Making great use of the games' physics engine and with great mechanics he continues his voyage to impress and entertain us. We have seen many copy cats who tried to emulate what he has done, but in the end nothing beats the originals.Tired of another ?Level that plays itself?? Then now?s the time to play TripleTremolo?s great Cause and Effect 4. A genius idea, excellent execution and overall a level worth watching. Don?t miss out. It's been a while coming, and while Rube Goldberg machines have been around since someone (who's name escapes me) invented them, and have been done thousands of times in LBP, very few can do it with the style and class of Triple Tremelo. The fact that this series is on its fourth outing and still manages to have you smiling and laughing with the creativity and craftmanship speaks volumes for the creator.Black and White Planet 2jump_button/jump_button
http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/6103/aphoto2.jpgMy second Black & white style level, Not that long but I hope you like it and find it to be a challange in parts.

High contrast artistry is back in jump_button's sequel to Black and White planet. Superbly rendered shapes and cool optical effects are a striking background for some interesting platforming. Spinning squares have rarely been so threatening but enjoyable. This is another superb looking level from jump_button. He really knows how to do visuals, and when you match it with some great gameplay you're onto a winner. A top class level that features knockout visuals, some great design, a contrasting colour scheme, and more important than those, its great fun to play.Black: check / White: check / Abstract yet amazingly good looking shapes: check / Sense of style: check / Solid platforming: check / Okay guys, I think we have about everything we need to make ourselves one heck of a level?.wait, somebody beat us to it? That is impossible!! Who?A follow-up level to the visual masterpiece that is Black and White Planet. Sure, the name isn?t innovative ? but everything else about the level radiates beauty and innovation. The black and white style made me want to explode with excitement inside, I loved it so much. Short but amazing, congratulations Jump_Button.Very few creators (if any at all) can match Jump_Button when it comes to artistic ability. Now that he can create levels as innovative and enjoyable as they are beautiful, it's hard to see anyone but him becoming LBP's very top creator as time goes on.Shade of GrayEviLPaNda/EviLPaNda
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=862&pictureid=7979A tricky obstacle course based on a gray scale. Shade of gray was based on a gray scale level, but I didn't run any lighting filters to create this effect. While the level is in black and white, the player is in full color, making your sackboy pop off the screen. The level is set up in a race format to give players a accurate score and pushes them to better their own or friends scores.

Another abstract labyrinth brought to you by EvilPanda. More precision jumps, swings and slides but this time all done in, as the name suggests, shades of gray. What I love about this one is it's not a filter to get the black and white effect. Speed equals score on this and with all the ways to fall to your death you'll find it challenging to balance speed and safety. Great geometric shapes and some cool pixellated pandas (presumably evil) round out the visuals on this fun to play level.Another fortnight, another excellent level by EvilPanda and yet another spotlighted level. Nothing?s stopping him as he continues to create fantastic levels with strong colour schemes. Another signature of EvilPanda returns ? geometric shapes to create intense platforming. It's difficult, but ultimately worth the reward as none of the deaths feels cheap. A solid racing/platformer.Rat Alleyshallm3/hallm3
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z166/hallm3/APhoto_1-1.jpgHeeding Enkel the Hobo's words you head on into the City of Rats in search for the Rat Ruler's Castle and hopefully some answers in your quest to seek out the merciless H4H!

Rats you just have to see are the show stealers in this level. Adorably designed in some cases and downright menacing in others these vermin populate every corner of this platforming level. Clever and very fresh feeling obstacles with many 2x sections keep the levels energy up and will keep you entertained throughout. Hallm3's style is very close to MM feeing but in a new kind of way. He also leaves his logic visible so creators and players can marvel at how simple looking switches can do so much. To play you'll need to start with his Introdudtion level to obtain the key for the Sewer level, then complete the sewer level for the key to this one. Worth the extra effort.Lost Colors 2 - The City In The Skythecooper/thecooper8
http://www.ps3page.de/wp-content/gallery/libipl/Ein%20Foto_6.jpgYou are on a planet full of phantasy. The "city" is in the sky and you should find the color of the world on this planet.

Great textures, materials and accents of purple throughout this high flying level. Swaying platforms powered by steam, wind and cogs a plenty make it a visually dynamic place to be but the first step is a dozy if you miss. Funny story bits like landing your ship, your robot sidekick (made in Germany) and a bumbling would be hijacker make it a memorable level for sure.Missed out on Lost Colours 1? Then you missed out on the best level in LBP history with tonnes of innovative platforming and the most amazing visuals?..oh you already knew that it's not been released? Well if Lost Colours 2 is anything to go by, then the original must be a fantastic level because this one is amazing. Steer around floating ships, meet some interesting characters and prepare to enjoy this genuinely fun level. The perfect mix of cute, and artistic. Genuinely funny, challenging and simply a must play level.

Congratulations creators! Great variety of levels this time around. Had a lot of fun playing them. Keep 'em coming!

Also wanted to mention quickly that we play levels with their own threads in the level showcase. If you have a level that you want considered you need to make a level showcase thread for it.

Thanks to the rest of the Spotlight crew too.

It's really cool that:
-I got noticed. Thanks!
-LittleBigApocalypse is getting exposure. It's definitely 13-year-old Scotch, and not Coca-Cola, but everyone should have a go and see what it's about.
-I'm rubbing elbows with folks like julesyjules and the mighty, mighty jump_button
-there are more than a few people, over the last few spotlights, that I had never heard of before. More than anything else, this shows that the "Post-Rocket-Cheetah" portion of LBP is still alive, and growing. I can't wait to catch up and play all these great levels.

You have to play all the levels in order to unlock them, thus being called 'The New Story Mode'

although im kinda dissappointed that i only got one comment, i suppose its cos im not famous enough yet XD oh well

Let me assure you that it has absolutely nothing to do with your "reputation" here, Hallm.

Your level was released just a few days ago and not all of us have been able to play it yet for various reasons.
I was kinda ill through most of the week and could hardly play LBP, most comments I made were of the levels I played the week before.

Oh, and if it makes you feel any better...I also had only one comment (thanks CCubbage) when I had my first level spotlighted.

Great stuff! I'm especially glad to see the "Little Big Apocalypse 21" up there - it is certainly one of the most engaging series I've seen in LittleBigPlanet and shows some of the most creative storytelling and creativity I've seen. Everyone - go out and play the ENTIRE series.

And also congrats to JulesyJules, who has quite possibly created one of the best levels out there - fantastic recreation of the Star Wars universe - I'm looking forward to see how you finish the series.

Coyote_blue - I've played your LN6 level about 10 times now, and it gets better every time!

And TripleTremelo - wow.... your mechanics never cease to amaze me!

And to all the other spotlighted levels... I'm printing out the list and playing the rest tonight!

Great job spotlight crew!

Hi there - we all have an opinion about all the levels we play, but let's not start telling the Spotlight team what and what not to Spotlight.

There has to be a cut-off for levels that can be included in the fortnightly Spotlights, and I'm sure no levels will get excluded that deserve to be there.

Levels that get published on Thursday and Friday prior to the spotlight post date usually have to wait for consideration until the next spotlight. It's just too hard to get it played and evaluated by the crew in time for posting in less than a day.

Yeah I'm sorry I couldn't play it before the spotlight went up - but I kept getting that annoying key glitch and couldn't unlock the level

lol its okay, i found out the other day that the key glitch doesn't exist, it just doesn't appear. I made a new account to investigate and when i finished Sub Metropolis, Rat Alleys didn't appear! So what i did was i found Sub Metropolis on the Cool Levels page and then selected 'find more by this author' and hey presto Rat Alleys appeared unlocked! im sure you could also try hearting the level and doing the same thing to save time that is if you enjoyed the level XD

I think it has something to do with the fact of how you search me. If you search '@hallm3' i think it doesn't work as when it searches for hallm3 it finds The Introduction as an unlocked level. As Sub Metropolis is directly linked to The Introduction but the intro isn't directly linked to Rat Alleys it doesn't apear on the world map and therefore doesn't unlock straight away. I dunno, that's just a theory anyway XD

This is why I didn't play it. When I was looking for Rat Alleys, all I found was The Introduction and assumed you had locked it for maintainance or something. I'll certainly give it a go asap though.

Awesome collection! Hope to play some, especially Cause and Effect 4, Black and White Planet 2, and Shade of Gray! 2009-11-03 03:48:00

These levels were all just amazingly fun to play! Great picks! But I have to say that one of them provided an extra treat. When I went to hallm3's level, I discovered I had to play two others to get to the Rats Alley. What awesome stuff! If you haven't played these, log off here right now. Fire up your PS3 and play them this minute!2009-11-13 03:51:00
